Set in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma, Le Pianore villa and organic farm is cradled between the medieval hilltop towns of Montelaterone and Monticello Amiata. Surrounded by woodlands, vineyards, olive groves and mountain streams, it is a private haven ideally suited to creative exploration and spiritual practice: with its spectacular views and untouched landscapes, it imparts a real sense of freedom.
Our estate, with its beautifully restored villas and studio spaces, is the perfect base from which to explore the surrounding countryside, from the slopes of the Monte Amiata down to the Maremma coast. Slow down and indulge the senses: visit world-renowned vineyards, dip into ancient Roman thermal baths, explore Etruscan tombs and stroll through Renaissance villages. Or simply relax and make yourself at home in a profoundly peaceful setting.

Villa Campostefani is the main guest villa and, together with the Fienile cottage, it has eight spacious bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen with adjoining dining room and two comfortable kitchenettes. There are many separate living areas, both indoors and out, with ample room for guests to settle in and make themselves at home. Be sure to light up the barbecue and wood-fired pizza oven.
There is wi-fi for all to enjoy, a small library to peruse at your leisure and a satellite television in the upstairs family room.

Villa Maladina is our country home, it’s where our four children grew up. We do not rent it out separately, but three rooms (sleeping up to seven) are available as overflow from Villa Campostefani.
The gardens at Le Pianore are a playground for adults and children alike. Chestnut, oak and cherry trees provide plenty of shade, while lavender and thyme, roses, jasmine and broom perfume and enliven the landscape.
Dip into our swimming pool for respite from the midday heat and enjoy lounging on the deck chairs until sunset, watching the sky turn red and feeling the cool evening air descend.
There is also a table tennis table, a volleyball net, swings and a jungle gym for the little ones.
Le Pianore offers all the facilities and infrastructure needed to host quality retreats and workshops in a beautiful and peaceful setting, ideally suited for creative exploration and spiritual practice. We cater to groups practicing a variety of activities, both meditative and dynamic: from yoga and martial arts to music, theatre and dance.
Sala San Francesco, built in the same Tuscan stone and vernacular style as the other villas, is an inviting space with oak parquet floors and large doors that open onto far reaching views of the pool and the gardens. A multifunctional studio with plenty of natural light, it is generously equipped with tatami mats, tables, chairs and blankets as well as a sound system. For those wishing to practice immersed in nature, there is a large sundeck and a shaded porch adjacent to the studio. In the cooler months the space is kept warm and cosy by a wood burning stove.
A separate loft area provides an intimate space for smaller groups or individual treatments. While the space lends itself to quiet reflection and meditation, the wall-to-wall tatamis also makes it an ideal dojo.
