Villa Iride Praiano - Amalfi Coast

Description

Set in one of the most beautiful panoramic areas of Praiano, Villa Iride occupy the entire ground floor of a two-story building.
It has two beautiful and large private gardens which offer a wide horizon of sky, sea and coast.

The blue Mediterranean sea is just below the property, the water can be reached by walking along a communal staircase of about 250 steps which leads to a sunbathing terrace on cliff. The house is bright, spacious and comfortable, with high ceiling vaults and elegant and welcoming furnishings. The floors are tiled with shimmering majolica tiles.

To stay at Villa Iride a car is not necessary. The stop for the buses that go to Positano, Sorrento, Amalfi or to the other coastal towns, can be found within 400 meters away from the house (including the 160 stairway steps).

Accommodation:
The total area of the villa is 110 square meters indoor and 400 square meters of outdoor area consisting of terraces and gardens with magnificent views of the sea, of Praiano and the coast of Amalfi towards Positano and Capri.

The first terrace, about 240 square meters large, is at the entrance of the property. It is partly shaded by a pergola with a bamboo roof. The terrace is equipped with comfortable seating area with built-in stone white benches, armchairs and sofa around a low coffee table, dining table with chairs and a barbecue, all surrounded by pots of trees and flowers.
The second terrace, situated 9 steps below the main terrace, is 160 square meters large. It is equipped with a pool, a sun umbrella, a table, deck chairs and an external shower.
Part of the garden is planted with seasonal vegetables, if in season the produce is available to guests.

From the garden, you enter directly into a spacious L-shaped sitting/dining room.
The furnishings include 2 sofas, a large flat-screen satellite television, a dining table which can accommodate up to six guests, air conditioning/heating units.

The kitchen is spacious and comfortable, equipped with a six -burner gas cooker, an electric oven, a refrigerator with freezer, a microwave oven, a dishwasher, an Italian-style coffee-maker and other small appliances.
There is a table to seat four guests. From the kitchen a French door will take you to the terrace.

From one side of the living room, a small corridor leads to two bedrooms, each with a matrimonial bed (160 x 180) and direct access onto the garden trough French doors.
The two bedrooms have their own bathroom next door. The first bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet, a shower, a washing machine and an air conditioning/heating unit. The second and larger bathroom is equipped with a washbasin, a toilet and a large Jacuzzi bathtub and an air conditioning/heating unit.

Access:
The Villa is situated below the main street of Praiano, the road that links all of the Amalfi Coast villages. It is reached by walking along a pedestrian street of about 400 meters and includes approximately 160 steps. The sea is right below the property. It can be reached walking along a communal staircase of about 250 steps.

Check-in procedure
Check-in time is between 4,00 and 8,00 p.m., from Monday to Saturday. You will be met and taken to the booked accommodation, asked for a photo copy of your Id or passport, any extras and the Breakage deposit (in cash only in any currencies) € 500,00 – this is refunded on your departure day, less any breakages.

We strongly recommend contacting our land agents the day before or early morning of your arrival day, to let them know how you intend getting to the resort and approximate arrival time, they will in this occasion be able to advise of any local fiestas, roads closed etc...

Check-out time is between 07:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., from Monday to Saturday.
On departure the property has to be left tidy, with the kitchen clean and free from trash. Should these conditions not be respected, there will a deduction from the deposit - amount corresponding to the extra cleaning time.

Arrival and departure times can be arranged outside these times or Sunday, for this service a supplement of € 55,00 is applied.

Location
Praiano is a small fishing village made up of houses scattered along the ridge of Monte S. Angelo which ends in the intense blue sea, at Capo Sottile. In an inlet is Marina di Praia, a small and charming beach surrounded by the houses and boats of the fishermen and by small, unpretentious restaurants that attract you with their simplicity.
It is considered Positano’s little sister with a similar beach and church, but not anything like so inundated with a flood of travelers and if you climb up or down the main coastal road you will find a natural village with incredible views, undisturbed by the rumble of coaches and cars. Lemon groves and vineyard terraces follow the irregularity of the terrain that slopes gently down to the little coves where the ancient Saracen towers stand guarding against these days improbable enemies. The favorable climate, the pure air, the beautifully blue sea, the cordiality of the people and improving tourist facilities are just few of the reasons that make Praiano an increasingly desirable place to spend one’s holiday.

How to get there
There are several ways to get to Amalfi from Naples Capodichino Airport or Naples / Salerno Train station either by renting a car or by public transport. It is also possible to arrange private transfer directly to the your property.

Once at the property you can get around fine without the car as parking in the towns is hard to come by and expensive. Public Buses operate year-around connecting Ravello to Amalfi, where are buses to all the Amalfi Coast villages and Sorrento area. Ferries (from May to October) operate a service between Amalfi - Positano - Sorrento - Capri Island - Naples and Salerno.
