The outdoor area of Villa Il Chiostro is just as spectacular, with a delightful garden area filled with orange trees, an inviting private pool and a glorious upper terrace with an array of tables for dining al-fresco. Surrounded by outstanding natural scenery, the garden and the pool area are the perfect spots to unwind in. Head up to the terrace for some excellent views of Mount Etna whilst you enjoy an aperitivo or delicious homemade pizzas.
When you wish to explore the surrounding areas, you will be delighted to find a handful of amenities within walking distance such as local pizzerias and small supermarkets. You can even walk just ten minutes (along the side of a road) or drive to a beautiful botanical garden from this villa.
Known for its wine making, the plains around the villa have harvested various crops over the years, including almonds and lemons, and walking amongst the vineyards here will leave you feeling truly immersed in the serene countryside.
Additionally, you only have to drive for 5 minutes to reach the nearest pebbly beach, Spiaggia di Praiola, and you could be striking out in the azure Mediterranean Sea in no time at all!
A 45-minute drive from Villa Il Chiostro takes you to the remarkable Parco Dell'Etna where you can marvel at the incredible active volcano, Mount Etna.
The ancient city of Catania, full of history and character, is only a 25-minute drive away and is a must-visit during your holiday in northeastern Sicily. The popular and impressive town of Taormina can be reached in just 30 minutes by car while the picturesque city of Syracuse is a little further afield and also not to be missed.

Situated in a lovely residential area amongst farmlands and vineyards and surrounded by the glorious Sicilian countryside, Villa Il Chiostro offers a fabulous location for your holiday in northeastern Sicily.
While the villa benefits from a serene countryside location, a handful of amenities are within close proximity, including a local pizzeria which is just a 5-minute walk away and a grocery shop which is only a 10-minute walk from the villa. Moreover, you are a short 5-minute drive away from the nearest beach, Spiaggia Di Praiola. Here you can set up camp on the pebbly shoreline and spend the day relaxing in the sun and swimming in the inviting Mediterranean Sea.
Furthermore, this property is within an hour's drive from the unbelievable Parco Dell'Etna. This remarkable 58-hectare national park is home to caves, spectacular wildlife and of course, the highest active volcano in Europe, Mount Etna. There are many different hiking routes throughout the park, all of which offer tremendous views. In addition, some of the most amazing wine in Italy is grown in the fertile soil on Mount Etna. Take the opportunity to head for a wine tasting and vineyard tour when visiting this extraordinary nature spot.
For a wider variety of restaurants and cultural attractions, make sure to head to the fantastic city of Catania, which is under a 30-minute drive away. As well as an array of restaurants, bars and shops to visit there are many Baroque buildings and terrific sites to see here, including the Roman Theatre, Castello Ursino and Cattedrale di Sant'Agata. For fresh, local seafood pay a visit to Catania's famous fish market and stock up on ingredients for cooking up a delicious meal back at the villas.
The spellbinding town of Taormina is just a 30-minute car journey away. The Piazza IX Aprile, Teatro Antico di Taormina and the Valley of the Temples are just some of the sites not to be missed here. Make sure to also visit the phenomenal nature reserve of Isola Bella, an island which is connected to the mainland by a short strip of sand and can also be reached by cable car. There's a pebble beach on offer here, as well as crystal-clear waters for swimming and trying activities such as snorkelling and diving.Another astonishing attraction to see in Taormina is the Chiesa Madonna Della Rocca. It provides some of the best views in town and is worth the hike to get there!
Further afield, towards the Southern tip of Sicily, the historic city of Syracuse is only an hour's drive away. Here you can admire the city's rich Greek and Roman history, culture and architecture, as well as exploring the island of Ortigia.
