Immersed in a grandiose olive grove in the Salento countryside, a few kilometers from the sea and the city, stands the Masseria Santo Blasio in Salento. An oasis of peace in the spell of stone, herbs and sun of our land.
A few minutes from Lecce (3 km) you can see the structure of the walls that enclose this ancient farmhouse, in which (studies of the University of Salento tell us) for 400 years during the Roman domination a customs was located that imposed duties and anyone who wanted to introduce products and goods in the city of Lecce.
Subsequently, the destination of this splendid farmhouse changed into a residence intended for summer holidays. As it is reported on the Latin engraving of the entrance portal in which a patrician from Lecce, who signs himself Pizziniaco, wishes to spend happy holidays to his friend who has just purchased "the farm". It seems impossible, but it only takes a few minutes and as soon as you leave the city with its frenzy, you reach the Salento countryside with all its splendid suggestions.
The olive tree with its twisted shapes, the fields of freshly mowed wheat, the narrow streets enclosed by dry stone walls that get lost on the horizon where you can see the sea and almost seem to smell it.
The Masseria consists of two main wings, enclosed by two courtyards enclosed by high 16th century walls.
It has 5 bedrooms and one suite, all with double bed and ensuite bathroom with tub or shower.
Guests can access the entire property: from the use of the kitchen, to the bright dining room with its ancient fireplace, to the large living room, to the external living room. There is also a large wood-burning oven, a pylon to cool off on the hottest days and a comfortable Peter's sofa in the shade of a large olive tree.
