Description

Surrounded by countryside typical of the Puglia region and yet also close to the sparkling Adriatic Sea, Masseria Cerasina offers the best of coast, country and city. Just 10 minutes away by car is historic Fasano with its enchanting old town. The sandy stretches of Torre Canne and Parco Dune Costiere are also just a short drive from the villa.

This grand country residence and the grounds of the farm it sits within date back to the 16th century, making this a truly traditional place to unwind and recharge your batteries. Whether it's the rustic yet luxurious interior, or the picture-postcard gardens that you spend time in, you'll always feel Masseria Cerasina's rich heritage.

There are five self-contained apartments, each with its own private entrance, kitchen, living/dining area and outside space. Some have been carved out of the rocky terrain, with others once part of the old stables. The apartments have either one or two bedrooms, which makes them ideal for both family groups or couples. The studio cave apartment is especially romantic.

Elsewhere within the vast grounds is another cave that has been designed for events. It features cosy lounge areas, a large fireplace, a huge dining space and fully-equipped kitchen including pizza oven. This fantastic space can be used for dinner parties, weddings and other special events or simply as another place to relax and spend time in a group. Whatever your reason for visiting Masseria Cerasina, you're sure to make memories you'll never forget.

The gardens suit big occasions as much as simply relaxing with the family. There's a large swimming pool, children's play area, tennis court and lawn bowls. Terraces and courtyards provide stunning views over the countryside and out to the sea. And strolls through the fruit and olive tree-dotted lawns will see you come across rustic stone structures and quiet, tucked away corners.

Sandy beaches are within a 15-minute drive away, so why not make a picnic and head to the resort of Torre Canne for a day of sea and sand. Also nearby on the Adriatic coast is gorgeous Parco Dune Costiere. This huge area of parkland encompasses both inland and coastal landscapes, so you can enjoy walks, bike rides and swims in the sea.

Other highlights include the famous Valle d'Itria countryside and towns, such as Alberobello, Martina Franca, Cisternino and Locorotondo. There's also the city of Ostuni, or 'The White City'; a name given to the city due to the whitewashed buildings in its old town.

The villa enjoys such a peaceful and picturesque setting within the Puglia countryside, you might find it hard to tear yourself away! But make the most of the complimentary bikes on offer and explore the beauty of the area on two wheels. You can also simply enjoy walking through the countryside on leisurely afternoons.

A wealth of amenities can be found in Fasano, which is just 10 minutes away by car. A historic town, its old centre is a maze of winding streets that are home to charming little piazzas and beautiful buildings.

Another historic hotspot in the area is the city of Ostuni, also known as 'The White City'. Its whitewashed old town is a sight to be seen, as is the 15th-century Gothic cathedral and city walls. Explore the city's winding lanes and narrow staircases, pausing to admire the views of the surrounding countryside before joining the locals at the lively Saturday-morning market.

Many resort towns along the Adriatic Coast are within a 15-minute drive. Torre Canne offers sandy stretches and natural hot springs with mineral-rich waters. You can try a range of water sports and horseback riding.

And just down the coast from Torre Canne is Parco Dune Costiere. This expansive parkland offers a diverse mix of landscapes to explore, such as wetlands, sand dunes and inland olive groves. Also available are guided tours that give you the chance to learn even more about the flora and fauna that call the park home.

The well-known Valle d'Itria towns are great for days out, with Cisternino being the closest to the villa. Also visit Locorotondo and Martina Franca, with Alberobello being awarded UNESCO World Heritage status for its famous for its trulli-lined streets and fairytale-feel.
