Situated in the pretty village of Sutton Bassett on the border of Northamptonshire and Leicestershire, with the county of Rutland close by. The open plan living, and dining room has spectacular views of the meadow where you can often see the cows grazing. The well-equipped kitchen has all you need if you rather have a quiet night in with some home cooked supper and the private garden and patio is the ideal place to enjoy a drink in the evening sun. The large en-suite boasts both a shower cubicle and corner bath leading from the kingsize double bedroom.
The historic and pleasant town of Market Harborough is 2 miles away where you can enjoy an array of high street and independent shops and eateries and has a trainline direct to St Pancras in under an hour. Rutland Water is under 20 miles and has much to offer including cycling and walking routes, water sports, fishing and bird watching centres including hides for observing nesting ospreys in season. The local towns within easy reach include Oakham, Uppingham, Kettering, Northampton, Melton Mowbray, and Stamford. Eyebrook Reservoir is another lovely place to visit for beautiful walks and trout fishing. Foxton locks are 6 miles away which consists of a magnificent flight of ten immaculate working lock gates with a museum and lovely pub. Walks along the tow path are recommended. Other places of interest include Althorp House, Diana’s final resting place, Barnsdale Gardens, Rockingham Castle, Burghley House; where the annual horse trials are held, Kirby Hall and many attractions and shopping that the city of Leicester has to offer including the National Space Centre. There are also historic battle sites nearby including Bosworth and Naseby.
