This holiday apartment is located in a country house in Pietraperzia (EN), a small town in the heart of Sicily, at the foot of a medieval castle and in an area where rites and traditions have remained unchanged. It is set a very large stone building dating from the beginning of the 20th century, whose ground floor has been converted into a holiday apartment. The accommodation is a spacious loft, consisting of two large halls with vaults and arches overlooking a small and fragrant garden, decorated with flowers, lemon and orange trees. One of these two rooms serves as a bedroom and living room, while in the other room there is a large library, with many books, DVDs and CDs available to guests. The bathroom is located in the former stable and the cribs and stone walls are still visible. The nice landlords are people interested in culture and are available for questions and information about the attractions in the area. Visit the ruins of Castello Barresi Branciforti in Pietraperzia and the old town, rich in aristocratic palaces and churches, as well as the Roman-Byzantine Castello in Mazzarino (21 km). The nature reserve Monte Capodarso e Valle dell'Imera is ideal for nature lovers and is only 5 km away, while Piazza Armerina with Sicily's largest archaeological discovery - the Villa Romana del Casale - is only 26 km away. Drive to Caltagirone (65 km), the city of pottery, with its long outside staircase, Santa Maria del Monte, made of decorated ceramic steps. The nearest beach is in Manfria and can be reached in about 45 minutes by car, while the "Steps of the Turks", a stepped coastal rock formation near Realmonte, is 84 km away.
