Description

Described by the owners as 'the beach house of their dreams', Villa Roldan is made up of a main house and guest house and is just 100m from the sea. Linked with a gorgeous pool and lots of areas to socialise, this villa would be perfect for families travelling together or groups of friends. There are several terraces with dreamy views of the mountains and the sea. The villa is especially enchanting in the early morning light and at sunset.

The large azure pool is perfect for an invigorating afternoon dip and long enough for proper swimming. It is heated and has a pool shower and an outdoor toilet for convenience. Around the pool, there is beautiful teakwood decking and sunbeds under a shaded area - ideal for a siesta. Additionally, there is a gymnasium in this area. Heritage-style stone walls wind around the hillside of the villa.

In both houses, there are fully-equipped American kitchens designed by Poggenphol and Plancha. Decorated in white, there is a glossy kitchen island and smart chrome details. There is lots of preparation space to create delicious meals for the whole family. In the main kitchen, elements are tailor-made, and there is a French stove. From this area, you can step straight out to the pool. Dine alfresco by the pool around the lovely table or indoors.

The living space in the main house is chic with white sofas, lots of natural light from the floor to ceiling windows and eclectic art. In the guest house, space is a little more cosy and fresh, with lots of gorgeous wood detailing. There are cute ornaments and pottery, which adds a charming touch.

Across the two houses, there are five bedrooms, including a penthouse room. Designed in a calming style, there is a king bed in this room, while the others have double beds or a single. Bright and airy, the rooms have tiled floors, white walls and splashes of cornflower blue. There is plenty of wardrobe space, for those who like to bring options. Air conditioning is available in the rooms to keep you comfortable.

Outside, the villa is made up of traditional whitewashed walls, with pillars and open sides. There are palm trees and plants dotted around the houses.

#### Location
This villa is beautifully placed in Agua Amarga, close to the glittering sea. There is a charming village centre with a plaza with a traditional bar and several great restaurants - four are on the beachfront. There are some shops and every Thursday there is a wonderful local market. Nearby activities you can get involved in include horse riding, snorkelling and diving, as there is a centre where you can take some courses. There is also a blissful spa that you can check into for some pampering.

Agua Amarga is part of the Cabo de Gata National Park area, which spans 50km of gorgeous coastline and is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. This wild landscape has a true desert climate and is popular with tourists, especially for photography and birdwatching. From the 40s to the 60s, the area was popularly used as a set for Spaghetti Western films including Once Upon a Time in the West. In Tabernas, you can visit the set which is now an attraction with can-can dancers and stunt shows. There is even a town jail.

The area has countless incredible beaches on offer - on the western side of Almeria, there are established beaches while the eastern side has a wild, unspoilt coastline. Playa de San Miguel is a gorgeous beach that runs from Cabo de Gata to La Fabriquella.

The owners personally recommend Cala Enmedio, a beach with golden sand and crystalline blue-green water. The beach is backed by white rock formations that you can also swim around. The only way to reach this beach is by boat, kayak or on foot. From the villa, it should take a 30-minute stroll to reach Cala Enmedio.

Take a day trip to discover Almeria itself, with its stunning historical architecture including Alcazaba and the Cathedral. Alcazaba was built as a fortress containing three-walled layers of forts, including a mosque, houses and a square for the people. It also served as a defence from North Africa. The beautiful Cathedral is said to be built on holy land and is designed in a combination of Gothic and Renaissance style.
Take a walk around Las Ramblas, which are the bustling main avenues of Almeria's centre, lined with trees, cafes and lots of little shops to explore. For high street names, head to Paseo de Almeria. Rambla de Belen is a famous walkway with lots of lime trees and fountains. From here, you can walk all the way down to the beach. Tapas is an Andalusian speciality - when you order a drink, you will get some included, such as tortilla, Cherigan, or freshly toasted bread with aioli.
