Situated at the foot of the cliff in sunny Calheta, is Casa do Paraiso IV. This beautiful villa has been finished and decorated beautifully throughout and makes the most of the lovely views over the surrounding banana tree plantations to the sea. Unusual and surprising features keep delighting you as you come across them. The lovely swimming pool with a wide shallow shelf where you can sit or lay or even place a sunbed and listen to the water lapping around you; a great private nook overlooking the swimming pool with a shelf with mattress and sitting area, perfect for relaxing or reading; a striking private zen garden to the side where you can see a trickling waterfall incorporated into a working levada; a vine-covered veranda for relaxing in the evening and watching the sunset. Casa do Paraiso IV is reached via steps (either from the gate or from the double car garage).Further steps lead to the swimming pool and sun deck located on the western side of the property. The entirety of the ground floor is occupied by the sitting area, that meanders through the open plan dining area and fully equipped kitchen, all featuring large patio doors to make the most of those wonderful views of the sea and surrounding banana trees. Both bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms are upstairs and benefit from these same views. A lovely little beach hut is located right on the rocky beach 30 metres below, and shared by the neighbouring Casa do Paraiso villas. Access is via a pathway with steps that leads from the level of the cottage down to the beach. A front terrace with sunbeds, outdoor shower and built-in barbecue and large table (seating for 16), is complemented with a kitchen (fridge, 4-ring hob) and toilet. There are many walks around Calheta and easy access to the plateau of Paul da Serra, with its many levada walks, makes this villa perfectly located for walking in Madeira and for enjoying a lovely holiday surrounded by the beautiful Madeira countryside. A few minutes by car will take you to the resort town of Calheta, which, with its man-made golden beaches, is popular with tourists and locals alike. There is a beautiful marina and a good choice of bars and restaurants. There are a handful of boutique shops and a good supermarket. Car hire is essential at Casa do Paraiso II as the villa is located off the beaten track, just above sea-level at the bottom of the cliff. Confident drivers will be rewarded with total tranquillity and privacy in this unique location. However as the access is narrow and steep, for your peace of mind you should hire a smaller size car.
