Description

This sublime luxury farmhouse with four cosy bedrooms is nestled in the rolling hills of the wild and wonderful Kentmere Valley and offers guests a rich and authentic experience of the Lake District.

A traditional exterior of typical white walls is complemented majestically by some creative indulgences in the interior spaces, creating a true paradise in this idyllic, secluded location. Both inside and out there is a charming fusion of old and new, with a sleek contemporary facelift for this historic property, retaining most of its traditional features with the odd modern luxury. There are two large living areas, tastefully refurbished with a touch of traditional decor, both with woodburning stoves and a wonderful vaulted ceiling in one. The kitchen is perhaps the most beautiful of the living spaces, with a fantastic modern-country style including an Aga and a large central island – from here you can directly access the peaceful garden to enjoy the calm, natural surroundings. When you've had your fill of fresh air, soothe your muscles in your private sauna!

There are four bedrooms in total. The first is a delightful twin room which sits in a galleried style above one of the living areas, great for those who like to be in the thick of the action! Two magnificent double rooms can be found on the first floor, each with an alluring king-size bed, and both offering a calm, restful space for your holiday. The final room features three single beds, making the perfect space for young children, just down the corridor from the double rooms. There is a full family bathroom on each floor.

Out in your enchanting garden, enjoy these panoramic views from your incredible patio, complete with garden furniture, for the idyllic spot to enjoy a cuppa and cake, or even a barbeque in the sunshine! With an acre of wonderful land to explore, including a stream, you will have endless hours of enjoyment of this luscious space in the countryside! Keep warm in the evenings with your lovely outdoor fireplace and make the most of this utterly tranquil location. And to top it off, you're just 3.5 miles from a quaint village pub, while Lake Windermere is just a few miles away.

#### Location
Tucked away among flourishing foliage and striking fells of the Kentmere Valley, yet just 4 miles from the delightful town of Staveley, with its array of fashionable outdoors shops, a train station, and even the renowned Hawkshead Brewery and Beer Hall, you can truly enjoy the best of both worlds in Kentmere Cottage!

Just moments away is Lake Windermere, England's largest lake at 10.5 miles long and 219 feet at its deepest point! Unsurprisingly this is one of the most famous and popular areas in the whole of the Lake District, with unrivalled hiking, cycling and water-sports on offer, not to mention attractions including crazy golf, climbing, hot air ballooning and orienteering! Just a 20-minute drive away, the town itself is quaint and lively with plenty of local shops, a Booths supermarket and the flagship store for Lakeland.

The slightly larger town of Bowness-on-Windermere is also nearby and offers an Information Centre with plenty of useful tips for visitors, as well as a vibrant hub of activity around Bowness Bay, where you can even hire rowing boats.

Something of a mecca for cyclists, walkers and water-sports enthusiasts, the landscapes awaiting you have to be seen to be believed! Leave the car behind and lose yourself in the fresh air! For the true adventurers, unbeatable skiing, climbing and mountain-biking can be found throughout the Park, while more relaxing pursuits including boat hire and golf can be found a stone's throw away.

Nearby attractions including the Lakes Aquarium, with the UK's largest collection of freshwater fish, the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, where you can enjoy a 3.5-mile steam locomotive trip into the Leven Valley and the delightful World of Beatrix Potter, where the fabulous animals of Beatrix Potter's tales are brought to life in three dimensions! All make for a great day out for all ages and can easily be combined for those short on time thanks to their proximity.

The Lake District is England's largest National Park, with more than 3100km of rights of way, you can walk, cycle and ride yourself silly through this enchanting valley as you marvel at some of the world's best scenery! Adventure courses, boat hire, all kinds of water-sports and much more ensure you can take the Lakes at your own pace, be that racing down the mountains on a bike, fell-running up them or gliding through them on a Launch, the possibilities are endless!

Carlisle, Leeds and Newcastle airports are all within a 2-hour drive or thereabouts, and there are train stations dotted throughout the National Park, so accessing the house on public transport is certainly possible.
