Description

Villetta Amabile is a delightful home where a couple or a small family can get to know the heart of Puglia. From your base at this charming villa, enveloped by olive groves, you can easily visit nearby towns, historic attractions and amazing beaches.
The villa is set on one level and has an open plan living and dining room with a double sofa bed, a dining table and a TV. This room opens onto the beautifully landscaped garden, so you can pop outside onto the terrace to sip your morning coffee as you listen to the birds in the trees. Adjoining the living space, there is a suitably equipped kitchenette for cooking light meals, or maybe you would prefer to fire up the barbecue and dine al-fresco.
When settling in for the night, there is one spacious bedroom with a rather tempting jacuzzi. If you are travelling with your children, the sofa bed in the living area can sleep two further guests.
Outdoors, the excellent design details continue, and you will find yourself on a chic, covered terrace with a dining table and comfy outdoor sofas. With such a great climate, you are bound to spend lots of time out here, and if you get a little hot during the heat of the day, you can cool down with a dip in the private pool, which overlooks the stunning tree-filled fields around the home.
Although you are set within serene farmland and olive groves, the villa is not isolated, and you do not need to drive for a long time to reach the closest amenities. You can find a good selection of eateries, shops and supermarkets in the village of Pezze di Greco, 2.5km away and even more shops, restaurants and lots of cultural attractions in the town of Fasano, only 5km away by car.
When you wish to go out for the day, you will be spoiled for choice by the staggering array of beaches and towns just a short drive away. The closest beach is Torre Canne which is 10km away and is a lovely sandy beach. You can visit the ancient seaside town of Monopoli which has some gorgeous beaches and an impressive castle which you can visit. Monopoli is 20km away from the villa. Just next door to Monopoli is the famous town of Polignano a Mare, 28km away. This vibrant coastal town has some of the best beaches in the whole region, an atmospheric old town, and some terrific bars and restaurants, so you should definitely pay the town a visit while staying at Villetta Amabile.

#### Location
You will find Villetta Amabile, just 10km inland from Puglia's beautiful coastline and nestled in lush farmland. This quaint masseria is an idyllic place for a relaxing break where you can walk in the surrounding hills, visit nearby villages and spend the day unwinding on the sweeping sandy beaches.
The closest amenities to the villa are just 2.5km away in a village called Pezze di Greco. In the village, you can find a range of restaurants, shops and a supermarket which are handy to have so close to home.
Puglia has breathtaking beaches, and the closest are around 10km from the villa. Torre Canne Beach is a great choice for a day of relaxation with soft sand and clear water. The beach is also located next to a lighthouse and a lively harbour. Plenty of other beaches are dotted along this stretch of coastline, from rugged coves to hidden swimming spots, so there is something to suit everyone, no matter which beach you like. While staying at Villetta Amabile, you are also well-placed for a day trip to the popular seaside town of Polignano a Mare, which is 28km away by car and is home to some incredible beaches.
If you would like to visit a larger town, then Fasano is only 5km away. Fasano has Roman origins but was taken over by the Knights of Malta in the 15th century, before decades of battles with the Turks. This dramatic history can be seen in the diverse architecture and exhibitions in local museums and at several fantastic archaeological sites. Some of these archaeological sites include the Museo Archeologico Di Egnazia, with vast ruins and Parco Rupestre Lama d'Antico, which is home to an amazing village of cave dwellings which you can wander around. These staggering homes are filled with frescoes, carvings and vaults. Both of these sites are set a few kilometres outside of Fasano town. Back in the centre of Fasano, you can explore the charming old town on foot with ease; the ancient narrow lanes are lined with cafes, shops and restaurants and lead to bustling piazzas where you can visit museums and historic churches. In the summer months, you can join in with community festivals and watch parades such as a medieval festival where the locals dress in period costumes and enjoy dances and competitions in the town squares.
Another lovely place to visit for the day is Locorotondo which is 14km away. This pretty hillside town is a wonderful place to visit to see some of Puglia's famous cone-shaped Trulli buildings, and it is less busy than nearby Alberobello. Locorotondo is a gorgeous town built around its central church. Here you can take a leisurely stroll around the town and the surrounding hills, looking at the ancient gateways and floral displays. The town is also a fabulous place to stop for lunch because you can find authentic, family-run trattorias here for a tasty meal.
Although many visitors head to Puglia for its beaches and beautiful towns, the region is also packed with natural attractions such as the magical Grotte di Castellana. This incredible cave system is a must-visit location which is only 28km away from the villa. Here you can head into 90-million-year-old caves with a local guide who can point out stalactites, stalagmites, fossils and rock formations.
