Villa Gretl is a modern, stylish four-bedroom villa sleeping eight guests in a stunning countryside location yet only 300m from the sea, just outside Lovran and 5km from the pretty, historic town of Opatija.

Lovran is surrounded by thick, tall, luscious pine trees and the indigenous underbrush of the nearby Ucka Mountain. This picturesque town embodies the spirit of the Mediterranean, perfectly blending its past and present. The stunning Kvarner Bay offers clean beaches and fantastic options for watersports, and the stunning hillside is perfect for mountain biking and hiking. Opatija, next door, is a true Croatian seaside gem with fabulous architecture and amazing dining opportunities.

The villa has two beautiful living areas so would be ideal for two families or an extended family where perhaps grandparents might appreciate a little space of their own. Alternatively, it would give children an additional play space while their parents enjoy some adult time. Villa Gretl is built over three floors, all with exquisite sea and countryside views.

The outside space at this villa is amazing. The large 1400 sqm plot is lovely with a wonderful pool terrace, lawn and fabulous planting, a gorgeous 13m x 5m swimming pool and fantastic alfresco dining and lounge areas. Deluxe sun loungers surround the lovely pool, and the covered dining area is superb with a built-in barbecue.

On the ground floor, there is a wonderful living and dining room with access to an amazing, furnished balcony. The kitchen is well equipped and very smart and has access to the pool and terrace. One of the bathrooms is on this level. On the lower ground floor, reached by an external staircase, there is a further living and dining space with another plush kitchen with a double bedroom and a shower room. The upper floor is home to two double bedrooms, a twin bedroom and another modern, dazzling shower room. One of the doubles and the twin bedroom open onto a delightful, furnished balcony.

Villa Gretl is extremely well furnished and beautifully decorated. It has a very cheerful ambience for you to enjoy a really special Croatian holiday.

#### Location
Villa Gretl is situated in a fabulous position just 230m from the sea in the peaceful, pretty location of Lovran. Croatia shows its true beauty at Lovran with the incredible, azure Kvarner Bay and the lush, green of Mount Ucka. It is a top area for active holidays but also is a truly wonderful culinary destination for local flavours such as chestnuts, asparagus and cherries. The Asparagus Festival is held each April, and the Festival of Cherries is held in June. The most popular gastronomic event is Marunada, or the chestnut festival, held each October in Lovran. You will well understand that Lovran prides itself on its wonderful restaurants. The Lungomare is the lovely seafront promenade. Lovran has a fabulous, family-friendly environment.

Renaissance, Venetian, Gothic, ornate Secession, Baroque, Classicism and Alpine Baroque architecture blend together to make Opatija a truly wonderful Croatian coastal gem. Opatija has been one of the most popular Croatian cities for sightseeing since the 19th century, and it is easy to understand why. The most famous statue in Opatija is the ‘Girl with a Seagull'. The original now stands in the Croatian Museum of Tourism, but the seaside replacement is very alluring. The stunning promenade stretches for 12km between Volosko and Lovran. You will certainly build up a great appetite if you walk the whole thing. The locals adore the two beautiful fountains dedicated to Helios and Selena, mythical Greek deities of the sun and the moon. The Croatian Walk of Fame pays respect to the tennis legend Goran Ivanisevic as well as other famous Croatians.

Villa Gretl is on the edge of the Istrian peninsula, and it is definitely worth spending some time exploring this spectacular area. The towns of Pula, Umag, Rovinj and Farzana are especially lovely as well as the deep countryside and wine regions.

Villa Gretl is also in an ideal location to visit some of the Croatian Islands. The soaring griffons and astonishingly blue sea are magical on Cres Island. It is long and spindly in shape, covering 155 square miles. Aside from Cres Town, the best places to visit on the island are Beli, Valun, Lubenice and Martinscica.
