Part of a two family house in a former barn made of wood and stone dating from the 19th Century in the small hamlet of Crétaz, near Cogne (200 m), the most famous mountain municipality of Gran Paradiso National Park, natural reserve with typical mountain wildlife such as snow hares, ibex and golden eagles . The house is on 2 levels, the ground floor contains the living room and dining area with fireplace, an equipped small panoramic terrace, a small kitchen and bathroom. The upper attic floor (minimum height 1.50 m) is reached by a wooden staircase; here there is a double bedroom, one room with bunk bed and the toilet. From the outside, you have access to a small, equipped garden for open air meals which is shared with the underlying apartment and overlooks the river. Stone grill (wood). The balcony offers an enchanting view over the whole valley. Good starting point for excursions into the valleys of Grauson and Arpisson, both in summer and in winter popular destination for ski mountaineering and ice climbing. The vast basin of Cogne offers more than 70 km of pistes and the nearest of which are located just 500 m from the house. Opportunity for trekking, rafting and skiing. From Crétaz you can reach the famous Courmayeur at the foot of Monte Bianco ( 50 km) or Gressoney (100 km), the beating heart of Monte Rosa with its large skiing area (170 km of slopes) which connects with Alagna. Ideal starting point for visiting the old castles in the area, such as the Castle of Ussel with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. For ice climbing enthusiasts there are at just 2.5 km from the house the famous waterfalls of Lilaz: more than 50 waterfalls at 1700 m a.s.l., with up to 250 m length climbing.
