The original structure was born around the 1000 year, it was an old tower that initially served as a barn. Then Cardinal Tancredi added what is now the central building, also having the adjacent chapel built, this by the architect and painter Baldassarre Peruzzi. The property also includes a large cellar and a 600-hectare estate on the rolling Sienese hills between Siena and Val
d’Orcia.
Villa del Greco consists of 9 bedrooms with private internal bathrooms. The large suite at the top of the lookout tower looks 360° over the Sienese hills. The original floors are those of the past, like the large fireplaces in the various rooms on the ground floor. Exposed beams on the ceiling, trusses, window frames and period furniture do the rest. The whole village is however very charming and full of charm. The structure internally is equipped with an “ancient” kitchen that has every comfort, a dining room, two large lounges with original painted beams and a fine picture gallery, two frescoed lounges, various unique outdoor spaces to relax in the cool, especially in summer.
In the outdoor park there is a large swimming pool, a tennis court and a beautiful wellness spa with gym and sauna. Around the property, on land managed with organic agriculture, (40 hectares of vineyards in production and thousands of olive trees, an oil mill and numerous wineries, an excellent very large Val d’Orcia Doc where quality is produced) are home to olive groves, vineyards and a cellar where an excellent Val d'Orcia Doc of the highest quality is produced.
Villa del Greco is also an ideal location for hosting weddings and ceremonies.
