Ahedo del Butrón is located in a narrow valley near the Ebro river, north of the province of Burgos. For some experts (see: Martín, Félix Benito. Vol. I, pp. 22, 182 et seq.), Is one of the most complete sets of architecture in the high valleys of the Ebro, an example of dense and compact architecture with a wealth of formal solutions.

Of the parochial church of Our Lady of the Assumption it emphasizes the Romanesque construction of which the complete southern wall remains constituting one of the most important sets of all the Burgos Romanesque and one of the most refined works of the teachers linked to the world of Silos ( See: Encyclopedia of Romanesque Castile and Leon.
