Description

Relax in the heart of the Italian Marche region, away from the hubbub of everyday life in this extraordinary historic villa. With the beach just a short drive away, you'll be able to experience the thrill of the clear blue sea as well as the meditative qualities of the glorious views from the property.

Perched on the top of the Marchigian hills, the villa sleeps up to 16 guests over nine bedrooms. It also boasts ten beautifully decorated bathrooms, with a mix of showers, baths and bidets. Spread out over three floors, there is plenty of space for dining, lounging and relaxing, with a stunning lounge, TV room and, if you're feeling more energetic, a billiard and gym room.

With the Italian countryside on your doorstep, you'll want to spend as much time outdoors as possible. There are three hectares of fenced-off land for you to explore. Splash in the large swimming pool, challenge someone to a knockabout on the tennis court or lounge in the covered barbecue area. And there's plenty for the whole family too, from table tennis to trampolining. Outside is a reasonably sized consecrated chapel, making the villa and its grounds an ideal wedding venue.

When you're lounging in the warm Italian sun, your mind is definitely going to drift to the Mediterranean food on offer. The villa's kitchen is well equipped, but if you want someone else to take the strain, you can hook up with the private chef on offer (at an additional cost), or stroll to the local village for an authentic Italian meal at one of the restaurants. Famed for its organic food, the Marche region can keep your wine, cheese and olive oil cravings satisfied.

The nearest village is a five minute drive away where you will find restaurants and shops for your convenience. The nearest town is less than 15 minutes' drive away and is a wonderful example of medieval and Renaissance architecture. Drive for half an hour and you could be at the historic seaside town of Civitanova Marche. Offering a quintessentially Italian experience, the fishing town has white sandy beaches and plenty of opportunities to grab a bite to eat in one of its cafes or restaurants.

#### Location
Villa Allegria is perfectly located for a holiday hideaway, with plenty of options to explore the Italian countryside and seaside. In the heart of the Marche region, nestled between the Sibillini mountains and Adriatic coast, the province of Macerata has strikingly beautiful countryside and traditional Italian towns and villages, but without the crowds of Tuscany to the west.

The local village, around 3.5km away, offers restaurants and supplies, but you will also be within a 20-minute drive of some of the 200km of coastline the area has to offer. And this coastline has the highest number of Blue Flag beaches on mainland Italy, some of which are only accessible by boat.

The nearest airport is a 55km drive away just outside Ancona, and here you will also find the ferry port. If you're feeling adventurous, in under two hours you could drive to San Marino and experience the historic architecture of this microstate.

Remember, this is Italy, and the music culture is thriving. Many towns in the region host music festivals in the summer, including those that showcase popular opera. Every summer in Macerata, around a 15-minute drive away from the villa, the Sferisterio opera festival is held in an al fresco arena, reminiscent of a Roman amphitheatre. If you want something quieter, then just 18km away is Urbisaglia where you can indulge your taste buds with some wine tasting.

If you want to explore the natural environment of the area, jump in the car and drive for just over an hour and you could be at Mount Sibillini National Park. Its highest peak reaches over 8,000ft above sea level, so no wonder that trekking is a popular activity here. You will also find areas perfect for rock climbing, and places to indulge in some more adrenaline-fuelled activities such as hang gliding and paragliding. Mountain bikers can explore the area on marked bike paths, but if you are after something less exhausting, a trip to the Sanctuary of Macereto is advised, where you can see some Renaissance architecture typical of the region. Lake Fiastra's water is a deep blue colour, and you can marvel at the nearby waterfalls and Grotto dell' Orso (or ‘Bear Cave').
