Ideally located for adventurous outdoor pursuits both the Dark Peaks and the White Peaks are within easy reach. For the more sedate it is just a short walk of ½ mile to the famous Buxworth Basin, or take a stroll along the tow path of the canal to the village of Whaley Bridge, about 1 mile. A keen walker may want to walk to Edale and catch the train back to Chinley station only 2 miles away or perhaps take the train to Manchester and take in a museum, show, art gallery or just shop. Chatsworth House, the spa town of Buxton and Castleton caves are all within easy reach and make great days out. Shops 1 mile, restaurant 2 miles and pubs ½ mile.
