Description

With panoramic ocean views from its location west of the town of Lagos, Villa Chantelle is a luxurious place to experience the Algarve. Looking out over a private pool and surrounded by verdant Portuguese countryside, the villa is just a short drive from the Atlantic and a number of beautiful beaches lined by rugged cliffs.

The main building features eight charming bedrooms, each overlooking either the ocean or gardens. Each room has a private balcony or terrace allowing you to enjoy these views to the full. When not hired out exclusively, the villa serves as a boutique hotel, so each room includes many amenities. Among these are 100% Egyptian cotton linen, air-conditioning, safety security boxes, televisions with optional DVD players and mini fridges.

Each room also has its own en-suite facilities – a decadent granite bathroom with underfloor heating, heated towel rail, luxury toiletries, bathrobes and towels. No bedroom is the same as another, so you can enjoy choosing the one which feels right for you. The master suite with its ocean view, seperate living area and four-poster bed, is a particularly special choice.

At the bottom of a hill, a cosy two-bedroom cottage offers accommodation for a further three or four guests. The cottage has its own lounge, dining area and kitchen, and outside there is a large shaded terrace complete with barbecue and dining area.

The villa's outside space will be one of the highlights of your stay. The swimming pool is surrounded by terraces, with tables, chairs and sun loungers waiting for you. The beautiful gardens feature fountains, ponds and an orchard – and there's even an outdoor chess set.

There's plenty to do inside as well – help yourself to a drink from the honesty bar, curl up with a book by the open fire, make use of the Wi-Fi or play a DVD or board game. Activities, excursions, airport transfers, massage treatments and all sorts of other things can be arranged, so you can be sure of excellent, personal service at Villa Chantelle.

#### Location
An historic city on the western Algarve, Lagos combines resort facilities with an introduction to the traditional side of Portuguese life. Relaxed and beautiful, the old walled city is a charming place to spend some time, and the marina and palm-lined promenade are pleasant spots for a bracing walk.

The 4km Meia Praia beach is one of the area's main draws, and the eye-catching cliff formations of the Ponta da Piedade, full of caves and grottos, are another big attraction. You can take a boat trip to see them up close, which is highly recommended. This area is also considered one of the best to see the spectacular sunsets the Algarve is known for, and there is plenty of wildlife to spot while you are waiting.

The city has enough to keep you going for some time, with numerous restaurants serving some fine Portuguese cuisine, friendly bars and even some clubs, although it is generally much quieter and safer than the larger resorts. The zoo is a big attraction for the children, and closer than the many water parks found in the region, although these are still within a reasonable drive of Lagos. You can head east and be in the next big city, Portimao, in around half an hour. It's an attractive place with a huge amount to see and do, including top-notch shopping and a pretty riverfront area where exciting events regularly take place.

Alternatively, head west and you'll soon be in the dramatic National Park area on the Alentejo Coast – another spectacular stretch of Portugal's coastline you won't want to miss.
