About the villa

Built in 1776 by the baron of Cerqueto, Vincenzo Maria Ajello, only ten years after the signing of the Declaration of Independence, Villa Aqvara exudes a rich architectural history that will allow you to live the aristocratic life in the eighteenth century.

The Villa is situated on top of the hills of Aquara, a faction of Massa Lubrense, and has been tastefully restored, with great care in preserving the many original features of the villa, including a Roccocò style fountain at the main entrance and a terracotta from the 18th century with majolica tiles by Giustiniani, finely decorated.

The name of the Villa derives from the abundance of spring water that was present in the area and that today continues to provide sustenance to the local agricultural community.

Villa Aqvara enjoys all the modern comforts for a perfect holiday including central heating / air conditioning, WiFi internet and satellite TV.

The entrance
The villa has two entry points: a path connected to the main road by a staircase and the main entrance of the Villa which is accessed from the parking area in front.

At the entrance of the villa there is a fantastic Italian rococo style fountain in lava stone and tuff dating back to the late Baroque period. Entering through a wooden arched door, in the main courtyard of the villa, you will be enchanted by the view of the sea, the gulf and the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida.

On the ground floor there are two large double bedrooms furnished with queen size beds, wardrobes and private bathrooms with shower, WC, bidet and sink. Each bathroom has many of the original features, carefully preserved, including marble floors and wood finishes.
It is important to note that there is a single foldaway bed, which can be placed in a bedroom for a child or an extra guest.
