It is situated within 17 acres of the owner’s grounds where they keep and train working dogs. Located on the 1066 Country Walk from Rye to Pevensey, the cottage is just a stroll away from a delightful pub which serves delicious food.
There are many places of interest within a short drive including Battle Abbey Gatehouse (English Heritage) and the battlefield where King Harold and William, Duke of Normandy, fought for the future of England; find out if you could carry a Norman shield into battle. Visit the beautiful grounds at NT Bateman’s and see where Rudyard Kipling wrote his fascinating stories. Spend a day at Bewl Water, trout fishing ( licence required), cycling or simply enjoying the boats. The hands on Science Centre at Herstmonceux, the Blue Reef Aquarium at Hastings and a selection of local vineyards producing award-winning wines to sample, should be on your list to visit. Good rail connections from the station at Battle, 6 miles away to London for further sightseeing opportunities in the capital. Beaches at Pevensey and Bexhill, 10 miles, Hastings and Eastbourne slightly further afield - 15 miles. Beach 9½ miles. Shop 2 miles, pub and restaurant 500 yards.

There are steep stairs to the first floor. Access to the property is via a rough track. Ramp into the porch and one step into living room. Trout fishing nearby, licence required, cost of £20 for 2 fish. No children under 2 years.
