In the heart of the historic seafaring village of Staithes, this traditional fisherman’s cottage is only 30 yards from the sea.. Ground Floor:

At low tide here in Staithes there is a small sandy bay in the harbour, at high tide the sea comes up to the sea wall, with small fishing boats bobbing in the water. This is an incredibly scenic village, sure to capture your heart. Sunnydene is an ideal choice for an authentic stay on the Yorkshire Coast, beautifully renovated to a high standard throughout whilst retaining beautiful original features invoking its heritage. Stone steps lead you up from the harbour to the cottage. Stepping inside there is an open plan living room with a dining area, complete with an open fire ensuring you have a cosy stay. The kitchen is compact yet well equipped with sea views from the window. Up on the first floor you have a modern bathroom with a shower over the bath. Plus a twin bedroom with views over the sea. On the top floor you have the master double bedroom, again with gorgeous sea views to wake up to.

Staithes is a fascinating village with a lot of history, take time to explore the free museum as well as the art gallery. Each year the annual art festival draws visitors from around the UK and this village continues to inspire many artists with its beautiful scenery. The area offers walking trails including the Cleveland Way leading across the cliff tops which links other pretty coastal villages such as Runswick Bay, Robin Hoods Bay as well as Skinningrove. You also have the nearby historical seafaring town of Whitby which delights guests with its cobbled old town, boat trips and the iconic abbey ruins. Or visit Saltburn which is a surfer’s paradise, with a beautiful Victorian pier. For a day out you can take a trip on the steam train across the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, soaking up the views. This is a great choice for guests looking to explore the break taking scenery of the Yorkshire Coast as well as the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
