Located in the grounds of the owners’ well-maintained gardens, the property is perfect for a quiet weekend or an ideal base to use whilst exploring this delightful area of North Devon. It is located within the village of Berrynarbor, a frequent winner of the Best Kept Village Competition and Britain in Bloom. The village has an ancient church, a licensed shop/post office, tea rooms and popular 16th-century pub. It has little through traffic, yet is just 2 miles from Exmoor and Combe Martin’s beach, rock pools and choice of restaurants, and 4 miles from Ilfracombe’s spectacular theatre, indoor pool and golf.
It is surrounded by some of the most dramatic coastal and moorland scenery in England and there are miles of marked footpaths, bridle paths and cycle ways. Woolacombe’s 3 mile long, clean, sandy beach is just 8 miles away, and Barnstaple’s traditional pannier markets, leisure centre and indoor tennis courts are a 20-minute drive away. A scenic drive leads to Lynton and Lynmouth, connected by a unique water driven cliff railway. Clovelly and the north Cornish villages are also easily accessible. Access to the South West Coast Path is withing walking distance of The Shippen. Beach 2½ miles. Shop, pub and restaurant 500 yards.
