The area is perfect not only for visiting the beach of Le Grazie (2,5 km by car or on foot via 266 steps) with typical restaurants or the exclusive Portovenere with its medieval centre and Grande Scalinata (staircase), from where you can admire a breath-taking view, but also to explore the charming Cinque Terre which are easily reachable by boat from Portovenere or by car along the panoramic road of the Cinque Terre, which starts 14 km from the house. Do not miss the event taking place in La Spezia (10 km). On the first Sunday in August there is the Palio del Golfo: 13 handmade competing boats revive the old maritime tradition, as work boats, loaded with fish, "rivalled" in landing priority at the wharf. Equally spectacular is the "Festa della Marineria": four days of celebration during the first week of October, where the importance of the maritime tradition of La Spezia is celebrated.
