Description

Villa Lestra is a wonderful, traditional Tuscan villa, located on two floors in a large flat garden. The property is only a short walk away from the small village Montelopio and also from a local Tuscan restaurant. In the well maintained garden there is a sparkling pool with a furnished gazebo next to it for shade. It's a wonderful, sunny area perfect for relaxing while enjoying the distant views that can be admired across the garden and surrounding fields. There are two outside, covered terrace areas for dining and relaxing in the shade.

The ground floor mostly consists an open-plan space with a lounge area and kitchen-diner. Here you’ll find an open fireplace and an array of French doors which provide light and access to the garden. The comfortable bedrooms each have en-suite bathrooms. What’s more, the bathroom on the ground floor has an open shower, which is ideal for guests with extra mobility requirements. The top floor is occupied by a tower room which has superb views and two armchairs.

Our Thoughts

A grand and impressive country house with stately designs inside and out. Villa Lestra adds an air of luxury to a Tuscan getaway, especially with additions such as the tower room, which has superb views from all directions. The bedrooms have are all very comfortable, with designs that are tasteful but never clinical. We were especially impressed by the lounge with its vast high ceiling and plush corner sofa – perfect for gathering together in the evening.

Notes

There is a safety gate at the top of the stairs.

There is a property which neighbours Villa Lestra (Agriturismo Canale). Protective fencing between the properties has been installed so that the gardens do not look into each other.

The owner arranges a complimentary wine-tasting experience in a local winery for his guests.



Pool Info

The pool is located in a position of full sun in the flat garden. To one side it has a lovely, terracotta sun deck dotted with sunbeds and umbrella. Immediately behind a pergola shades a comfortable sitting area with ratan armchairs and sofa. In a corner of the chlorine cleansed pool is a Jacuzzi, while the other side has a waterfall into a smaller, shallow area. From the pool area, across the well maintained garden the distant Tuscan hills can be admired.

The pool is  15x5 metres and 0.4-1.5 metres deep. It's open from May to October, weather permitting. Gated Pool.
