Description
Villa "Il Melograno" represents a real oasis of peace situated at the foot of Mount Etna, in the town of Mascalucia. The village, during the summer season, is a holiday resort for the cooler climate than Catania due to the elevation. In the northernmost part there is the ancient rural village of Tarderia, immersed in a wide expanse of chestnut groves with mountain flora and alpine tree species. From Pedara you can easily reach Mount Etna (about 15 km). Along the provincial road to Etna you will come across the pit of the Salto del Cane, an ancient extinct crater with an equipped area (Base Point for Hiking in the Etna Park).
The villa is surrounded by a park with lawn and palm trees and pomegranate trees and has parking spaces. The pool is private, and for exclusive use. The exterior is also equipped with a barbecue and a bathroom with shower and a terrace where you can have lunch or dinner.
Inside: The villa is on 2 floors. The ground floor consists of a large living room with fireplace and a sofa bed, a well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom with shower, a laundry room and a double bedroom. The first floor consists of a bathroom with a spa bath, a double bedroom and a twin room.
Outside: Villa Il Melograno has a very big outdoor on two level with a dining area close to the living room and a big garden with trees, a private swimming pool with sunbeds
Mascalucia is known for hand looms for the weaving of yarns, for wrought iron artefacts, for carpets, but it is also known as a wine center, for its fine wines, so-called "del Bosco", rich in iron salts , "Shadow Wine".
Mascalucia also has a vast heritage of architectural heritage: the Church of St. Anthony the Abbot, with the characteristic lava stone step that divides the male from the female sector, which dates back to the customs of the early Christians.
