Calvia is a small village where you will find friendly locals selling traditional dishes. Within 30 minutes drive though, you can be in the cosmopolitan capital, Palma.
Here you will be able to visit the wondrous cathedral, sublime marina / harbour and discover plenty of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants.
Beyond this and a further drive away are the sandy beaches of Mallorca.
