Description

Fancy a quick stroll into town to shop or to enjoy the (artistic) pleasures of the creative cuisine at the Sal de Coco harbour? It's best to leave the house on foot; you can safely leave your hire cars in the garage and on the street in front of the house. The stylish "Colonia Beach House" places you right into beach life with a sweeping and well-padded lounge terrace, even though the protective concrete wall is too high to jump over to land directly in the sand. You do need to go out the side door and walk through the green spaces. This definitely ensures that you will have plenty of privacy when you comfortably lie under the parasol and drink to the yachts anchored in the blue sea. Even if you turn your back to the water, you can still watch the happenings in the bay as a reflection in the gigantic glass facade which separates the interior from the exterior with sliding doors. And which transports the waterfront feeling ...

straight into the lofty living space in which hitting your head is impossible for anyone. Underfloor heating and radiators ensure you'll be cosy even on cooler days. A (purely decorative) fireplace corner, sofas, a flat-screen TV, the dining table, and the open-plan mini-kitchen present themselves as an elegant unit and offer plenty of space for all guests. But with such a large selection of cafes and (fish) restaurants nearby, you will surely enjoy letting someone else serve you once in a while. The discreet colours of the two levels, connected via a staircase and a lift, lets the fantastic ocean view seem even more intensive. The master suite situated above the common area boasts the same view, whether you want to enjoy it from your bed or during a bubble bath in the free-standing tub. Three additional double bedrooms on the other side - two of which are single beds, ideal for children - have to make do with the view to the front of the house, but they also boast the luxury of an en-suite bathroom with a shower to quickly rinse the sand out of your hair and get ready to go out. The glass balcony on the upper floor facing the beach, which can be seen in the pictures, belongs to another apartment which is not rented out for holidays.

Your hire car is happy to take a break while you're active: Experienced treasure hunters can dive down to a Roman galley on the bottom of the ocean. Platja d'es Dolç, approximately 2 km away, makes an exceptionally family-friendly appearance with crystal-clear water, a shallow sandy beach and a safe bathing zone owing to the offshore islet Na Guardis. Be sure to stop by the nearby visitors' centre of the marine reserve Cabrera with its aquariums; you can take a ferry to the eponymous goat island. You can easily tackle the 6 km to Ses Salines by bike to get to know the pink lagoons, where salt is harvested in the traditional manner. Speaking of breaks: The palm-tree-lined harbour promenade is just a stone's throw away from the Beach House. In the summer, a tapas tour guides visitors through various localities every Thursday evening.
