Description

Se gosta de natureza, de ouvir o chilrear das aves logo ao amanhecer, se aprecia a serenidade das montanhas com um luminoso pôr do sol por detrás das montanhas, o Zen Vouga é o local para si.
Welcome to our warm, traditional family farm, Zen Vouga, located on the outskirts of a rural village in Portugal, Zen Vouga, also known as Quinta do Fundo de Vila, sits on just over 3 acres (1 hectare) of pure nature, in a tranquil and idyllic setting. Comprised of 3 private houses for visitors, each rented separately. All together, we sleep up to 14 people for retreats, family gatherings and the like. We welcome everyone, regardless of ethnicity, colour, credence or sexual orientation.
We have the facilities necessary for you to make your own meals and enjoy some relaxing time in Portugal’s laid-back countryside.
Zen Vouga is our family farm dating back to 1744. In keeping with the appreciation for the best of traditional Portugal, we have restored our houses with hewn granite stone, local timber, and wood-fired clay tiles, also paving our pathways in cobblestone. Situated in a region of Portugal known for excellent gastronomy, regional wines, and the largest thermal baths in the country, Zen Vouga is a perfect place to relax and replenish.
At the farm, our guests can view traditional wine-making facilities, an ancient wine press and cellar. We have also preserved a maize crib, barbecue and wooden oven, typical of Portuguese country homes. We have added a games room and a covered pool for the entertainment of our guests.
We have three fully-appointed houses on site for rentals. House #1 and #2 are located on the ground floor. House #3 is accessible by a short flight of stairs. They may be rented separately or all together for larger groups.
House #1 comprises of 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 contains a double bed, plus 3 folding single-beds and a double bed sofa. Bedrooms 2 and 3 each contain 2 single beds.
House #2 comprises of 1 bedroom with a double bed and a double bed sofa.
House #3 comprises of 1 bedroom with a double bed and a double bed sofa.
FYI, we have a separate house for our own use. This fourth house is not for rent.
We also have a wheelchair ramp for accessibility.
We welcome you warmly and ask that you treat our country home with care and respect. Guest access Nature surrounds us, our views opening onto bucolic vistas into untouched mountainsides. in the valley of the River Vouga that runs through Reibeiradio county, 2 hours north of Lisbon, 1.5 hours south of Porto by car.
The guests may access all areas of our grounds. For individual rentals of the houses, we ask that you be conscious and respectful of other guests. You may also rent out all three houses which will ensure full privacy.

Other things to note
We are committed to keeping things simple and sustainable. We ask that you keep your showers short (we have solar panels and limited storage tanks, so please be mindful of the others so they too may have hot showers).
The farm is in a remote village in the countryside, so we don´t have a public sewer system and instead use septic tanks. We ask that you use only wash personal products like soaps and shampoos in the drains and dispose of toilet paper ONLY in the waste bins provided.
Please help us preserve and maintain nature at its best.
