Description

When you close your eyes and think of the Caribbean, what comes to mind? Immediately, you might imagine long stretches of blissful white beaches, waves gently lapping at the shore as palm trees sway. You'd be right. The Dominican Republic is famous for its picture-perfect coasts. But there's far more to the country than that. It's also home to the oldest city of the so-called 'new world,' Santo Domingo, evocative history and culture, rugged yet enchanting cities, world-class golf courses, vast rainforests, savannahs, highlands, mountains, sugar cane fields to the south, and mouth-watering food. Villa Leia is located in La Romana, a very popular location owing to its proximity to the offshore island of Catalina. This makes it an ideal launchpad destination if you wish to explore further afield, and we'd highly recommend that you do. Your villa is able to accommodate eight guests between four bedrooms and also boasts four absolutely breathtaking bathrooms with outdoor shower facilities. If you've not taken an outdoor shower underneath the beguiling sunshine, we'd certainly recommend that you give it a try! Lovingly designed by architect G.F Fini, who also designed La Marina de Casa de Campo and many other villas within the resort, you'll note the painstaking attention to detail, sublime modernity, and creative genius. You'll be blown away by how beautiful the villa truly is. The use of windows, wood, and white paint makes the space look ethereal and creates a tranquil, harmonious atmosphere. The property itself is surrounded by gorgeous nature and fellow mansions in a private cul-de-sac neighborhood; this truly is a place to feel at home. The villa itself overlooks the 9th hole of the La Romana Country Club golf course, making it an ideal choice for golf fans. The golf courses of the area are world-renowned and for good reason. As you approach the property, you'll notice the grand driveway; the lush green, striking palm trees, and stepping stones that guide you towards the entrance. As you enter the property, you'll find two side patios, a main gallery, a vast living and dining room, library, TV, media room, swimming pool, jacuzzi, and a great deal of deck space with a gazebo. Take in the chef's kitchen and enjoy your very own walk-in closets before you get ready for your day or night. Bright, light, and airy, the villa utilizes natural light to create a welcoming and joyful interior. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy spending time together, especially gathering for food and time around the pool. You can even kick back and relax in your own hammock, although make sure you're wearing sunscreen! The Dominican sun is strong. The villa has several enchanting and unique aspects. You can change the intensity of the lighting using the programmable Lutron lighting system and also use the centralized sound system. You can also make use of your very own home theater and intercom throughout. As the villa faces due east, you'll enjoy a balmy breeze to help keep you cool. With your own housekeeper, cook, and waiter, you can truly kick back and relax and enjoy your luxurious home away from home in paradise.

Villa Leia is a part of Casa de Campo, the first and premier resort in the Dominican Republic. Located on the edge of the city of La Romana, Villa Leia offers a breathtaking setting on the Caribbean Sea. The resort itself is known for its luxurious amenities and a wide range of activities. Casa de Campo boasts three magnificent golf courses, making it a paradise for golf enthusiasts. Additionally, the resort provides a variety of sporting facilities, including tennis courts, a shooting range, and an equestrian center. Water-sports lovers can enjoy activities such as kayaking, snorkeling, and deep-sea fishing. For those seeking relaxation and pampering, the resort features an amazing spa that offers a diverse menu of soothing treatments. There is also a fitness center that provides classes and personal training sessions for fitness enthusiasts. The beach club at Minitas Beach is a popular spot in the evenings, offering a combination of dining, drinks, live music, and DJ performances with stunning sea views. Casa de Campo also offers several other dining options with a variety of restaurants, bars, and lounges to choose from. While Villa Leia and Casa de Campo provide plenty of entertainment, there are also nearby attractions to explore. The charming village of Altos de Chavon, designed to resemble a 16th-century town, houses a cultural center, archaeological museum, and an impressive 5,000-seater amphitheater. This venue has attracted renowned musicians and performers from around the world. La Romana and the village of Bayahíbe offer vibrant nightlife, with beachfront bars and clubs playing lively dance music.
