Description

Villa Coquille offers all the luxuries of St. James's Club, spectacular views of Mamora Bay from sunrise to sunset and a very private and intimate feel. If you are looking to be in a very secure environment with all the comforts that a holiday resort offers, but want to be in a secluded, intimate and very private beachfront location at the same time, you have found your place!

The 2 bedroom, 2.5 en-suite bath villa offers a king size master bedroom with large screened windows opening to the beach and sea and another large sized bedroom with three beds that can be joined to create a king size bed.

The spacious living area opens to gorgeous views of Mamora Bay and has an open plan kitchen great for entertainment. Indoor or outdoor dining, your choice. A place to relax with a book or relax in front of the tv if you need to take a break from the Caribbean sun. The villa is fully air-conditioned, has flat screen TV and private Wi-Fi is provided.

The fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances will permit you to cook a gourmet dinner or just make yourself a good Italian espresso when you need reinforcements after a day of sport activities.

The inside is furnished in light beach house style, bright and breezy, with eclectic choice of designer furnishings to capture the beach style living and color palette inspired by water, sun and vegetation. You will find artwork created by the previous owner from what she found on the beaches and in the sea of Mamora Bay. Take inspiration and create your own artwork to take home from your holidays!

The very large terrace (nearly 800sf) features a cozy and delightful dining area with additional space for entertaining and a lounging area with comfortable sun loungers. The villa's terrace has an electrically operated windscreen which provides for an even more serene and sheltered feeling.

Evenings are well spent on the terrace watching the sunset and the lights surrounding Mamora Bay emerge. The Caribbean sky showcases the stars as they appear and the breeze of the palms, gentle breaking waves and sound of tropical tree frogs will chill you out even more.

Located right on the beach, 'piers dans l'eau', a short stroll away from the resort's amenities, offers the best of both worlds: unobstructed views of the sea and a quiet golden sand beach at your doorstep. There are sun parasols for your exclusive use and all the buzz of the resort's restaurants, water sports centre and swimming pools are just a barefoot walk away.

The size of the villa and its terrace with its comfortable and tasteful interior, as well as the superb beachfront location may make you spend your entire holiday relaxing at the villa. You will be surrounded by spectacular views, with frequent breaks for a dip in the sea and a snooze in the shade. We encourage you to do more! The resort has two fabulous sandy beaches, cleaned every day, so you can swim in warm clear Caribbean waters to your heart's content. From the Atlantic side beach you can swim or kayak as far as a coral reef and snorkel from there and from the Mamora Bay beach side you can set off windsurfing, paddle boarding, snorkeling, catamaran sailing, etc...

Enjoy all of St. James's Club facilities which you will find more than enough during your stay: four seafront restaurants, a beach bar and grill or if you do not feel like getting up from your sun lounger just grab a beverage from the drink cart passing by with astonishing regularity!

The all-inclusive package is available for an additional fee but is quite worthy of the price. The property manager, Mr. Akeem Zachariah, is a fully trained professional chef and offers a la carte catering services. He will also guide you to the best places to dine on the island and advise you on where to buy your groceries.

Try your hand in sailing, kayaking, windsurfing and paddle boating under a watchful eye of the seasoned water sports crew. Take part in beach volleyball matches, morning hikes, stretch/pilates and Abs classes or sweat on your own terms in the fully equipped, air-conditioned workout gym! Play tennis on one of the four floodlit tennis courts or take up pickle ball on the new courts. And then take yourself to the beauty spa with a delightfully long menu of treatments.

Outside St. James's Club things to do are aplenty! We are happy to share with you all the famous and hidden treasures of Antigua and our property manager, Akeem Zachariah, will be glad to answer any questions. He can point you to restaurants, night life, historic monuments, places to watch yacht racings, day-trips by car or boat, deep-sea diving and deep-sea fishing. You can schedule all that and more via a concierge at the St. James's Club or ask us for a recommendation. You may rent a car, with or without a driver, in order to travel the island.

It is a vacation paradise and it can be yours for reasonable rates.

Our plan is to make a number of updates to the Villa by the end of the year. This includes a minor kitchen renovation by adding a dishwasher, new Corian countertops and extending the cabinets (by 10/31) COMPLETED, installing ceiling fans to the terrace (by 10/31) COMPLETED, purchasing a clothes dryer to compliment the Bosch washer (by 10/31) COMPLETED and adding a queen sized Murphy bed to Bedroom #2 (by 1/31/22) to replace an inflatable bed.

RESORT & ISLAND FEE (St James's Club, Antigua):
A Resort Fee of $24 per night is payable locally at the resort and a recently government mandated fee of $5 per person per day is also payable at the resort. This fee includes wi-fi service throughout the resort and helps defer the costs of enhanced cleaning and sanitizing protocols (COVID). The fee is inclusive of any taxes. The province of Antigua charges all guests a "Tourism Guest Levy" of $5 per day per person (this began in October 2021).
