Step inside this warm and welcoming home, into a spacious, well-equipped kitchen/dining room, which is the perfect place for gathering with family over dinner. The light and airy living room, with feature wood burner set in an inglenook fireplace, Yaffle Cottage is the perfect place to sit back and relax on an evening. The lower ground floor is also surprisingly light, with both bedrooms having full length windows and patio doors. Both bedrooms have direct access through the French doors to the outside patio area. There is an additional seating area on the upper level within the garden, which is an ideal spot for an al fresco supper in the warmer weather. There is also a TV room, which is ideal for children and adults alike, boasting a 55” curved screen TV and DVD player.
Yaffle Cottage is situated in the middle the South Downs National Park, which is ideal for walking enthusiasts. It is also located between the quaint historic towns of Petworth and Midhurst, which are both less than ten minutes’ drive away. There is so much to do within the area, as the property is within easy driving distance to Billingshurst, Guildford, Haslemere, Chichester and the South Coast. Petworth is approximately 5 miles away, and is known mainly for its National Trust home, Petworth House, which is a beautiful stately home that was transformed in the 1750’s by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. There are many functions, fairs and outdoor events that can also be enjoyed here, and the grounds/deer park and lake which surrounds the house, extends to 700 acres, making this a fantastic walking area. Petworth is also well-known for its wide selection of antique and collector’s furniture shops. Also nearby are Black Down, which is the highest point on the South Downs National Park, Sean Barn Farm, Woolbeding Gardens, and Lavington Common.
The delightful thriving market town of Midhurst is only 5 miles away, with its medieval castle and mixture of Georgian and Victorian architecture, and it offers a selection of antique and collector’s furniture shops. Goodwood, with its motor and horse racing, Fontwell Races, Leonardslee, Parham House, The Weald and Downland Open Air Museum and the South Downs are all within easy driving distance. Chichester Cathedral, tea rooms, extensive shopping, Chichester Festival Theatre and harbour tours are great for days out. Alternatively, Arundel, which also has a cathedral, the famous castle and is home to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust. The Witterings and other beaches are half an hour’s drive and numerous golf courses within easy reach. Beach 15 miles. Shop, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
