This pretty cottage, adjoining the owner’s farmhouse on their traditional organic beef and dairy farm, is within the stunning Tamar Valley with lovely woodland and country walks along the Tamar trails from the doorstep. The cottage has a cosy living room to curl up in with a good book, and an enclosed patio along with a large lawned garden. Perfect to enjoy a morning coffee whilst you plan your day and maybe hear the distinctive call of the elusive nightjar which can be heard here.

The area is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. You can explore the network of trails on bike or foot, try some outdoor activities like tree surfing, archery and canoeing, or relax at the Tamar Trails Centre and Café.

An ideal touring base to explore both Devon and Cornwall, with the historic market town of Tavistock and the wilds of Dartmoor just a 10-minute drive away. The ancient stannary town of Tavistock possesses World Heritage Status and has a unique range of beautiful independent boutiques and shops offering amazing locally produced food. The famous pannier market is well worth a visit and there are a good selection of cafés and restaurants.

Dartmoor National Park is the largest and wildest area of open country in the south of England, with ancient woodland, high granite tors and vast tracts of rolling moorland. There are stunning beaches within an easy drive including Looe, Boscastle, Tintagel and Port Isaac. The National Trust has several properties within easy reach including Cothele House, Saltram House Lydford Gorge, Buckland Abbey and Castle Drogo. Step back in time and experience what life was like for miners 200 years ago at nearby Morwellham Quay, location of BBC’s ’Edwardian Farm’. Golf, fishing and horse riding are all available locally and for a great day out, Plymouth, 11 miles, has shops, theatres, the National Marine Aquarium and historic Barbican. Beach 24 miles.
