As night falls, the sunset is truly spectacular. Switch off the garden lights and outdoor music and count shooting stars to the sound of cicadas. The odd flash of St Nikolaos' lighthouse perfects the scene.

The island has great beaches which can be reached on foot and by car, the closest to Villa Faros being Gialiskari which is a 10 minute walk.
