Los Vergeles is the final result of careful restoration work on a typical house in La Vera.

Old chesnut wood beams and hand chiselled stonework, age-old craftsman made doors give the building a really comfortable atmosphere.

Los Vergeles is made up of 6 apartments with one and two bedrooms, air conditioning, with a fully equipped kitchen, each with its own identity. They all include a sofa bed in the lounge, the ideal place for a traveller to relax, a true country house.

Los Vergeles is situated in the centre of Valverde de la Vera, and just a few metres away from a supermarket, tobacconist, cafes and restaurants. At the same time, it is surrounded by nature: the vegetable garden at the house is the first to be found on the slopes, where the king is the cherry tree.

La Vera was chosen by the Emperor Charles V as the place for his retreat. It is also famous for its excellent traditional architectural preservation. Valverde is one of the five villages in the area which has been declared of Artistic and Historical Interest.

“El empalao” , “el peropalo” ,” el viva-viva” , “los escobazos” are the festivals that we have inherited from our ancestors and which today are enjoyed by the local folk and visitors alike.

Its privileged location, on the southern slopes of Sierra de Gredos, provides La Vera with its own microclimate that creates exuberant greenery. Oak trees, ferns, hundred-year-old chestnut trees, strawberry trees, rockroses, Stoechas lavenders and an endless number of species, cover the landscape of La Vera, offering spectacular scenery in every season.

From the snow falls of Gredos, we discover the gorges that offer us crystalline small lakes, where you can cool off on those hot summer days. The friendly local folk will welcome you with open arms.
