Sandown is the perfect place to enjoy a traditional seaside holiday, the magnificent safe sandy beach with safe waters and pier offering cafes, bars, all-weather amusement and, if desired, nightlife. The pier also has a designated area for the keen angler.
Broad seafront promenades are within easy reach of the town centre, which is packed with interesting shops, pubs, restaurants and a leisure centre with indoor swimming pool. A footpath leads to Culver Down, with its panoramic views over the bay.

The two mile coastal walk between Sandown & Shanklin is a popular attraction; choose from the undulating coastal path or the sea wall promenade. Along the way is the village of Lake, with its quiet sandy beach and water sport centre.

Also in Sandown is Dinosaur Isle with life size models and Isle of Wight Zoo famous for its Tiger Sanctuary. There is also an 18 hole golf course and pitch & putt. Sandown train station links you to Shanklin and the other beach resort of Ryde.
