Description

Hawthorn features comfortable furnishings and facilities to help you enjoy your stay in the Cairngorms National Park. Accommodation comprises double bedroom with en suite & shower, double bedroom, twin bedroom, family bathroom, sitting room with TV, Free Sat, DVD, WiFi, & open fire. There is a modern kitchen diner with fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave etc. We have oil central heating to ensure you have a comfortable stay. In addition there is a conservatory and large garden.

Hawthorn is located off a quiet road and set within an enclosed garden which is safe for children to enjoy. There is parking for two medium sized cars within the drive. There are three steps at the front & one at the back door. Guests are welcome to use our log fire but are requested to bring their own logs & kindling. Towels, bed linen and a hair dryer are provided and for those 'so inclined' there is an iron & ironing board. There is an outside hose for cleaning mountain bikes, or for cooling off, after a hard days ride.

This is our family cottage so we aim to share our own standards for your comfort and enjoyment - we don't allow smoking or pets to ensure these standards are maintained. Short stay (outwith peak periods) by arrangement - minimum stay three or 5 nights depending on season.

Nethy Bridge is a quiet village surrounded by the ancient Caledonian pine forest within the Cairngorms National Park. This is an ideal place to experience a vast range of activities in a fantastic setting - you can ski, board, sledge, walk, cycle, climb, fish, canoe, sail and more all within the locale. If you want to explore the local forest or venture onto the high tops of the Cairngorms there is a great network of paths and trails. You can also visit the reindeer herd at Glenmore or climb Cairngorm mountain for spectacular views. There are water sports centres at Loch Morlich & Insch and a number of guided adventure activities available locally. There are several cafes & restaurants with shops, cinema and swimming pools nearby. You can experience the Speyside 'whisky trail' or visit some of Scotland's most iconic castles and heritage sites. If you love nature we have red squirrels & ospreys and you may also encounter some of our rarer Scottish wildlife such as pine martin, capercaillie & crossbills.

Nethy Bridge is easy to get to by road. There is a good rural bus service and excellent mainline train services at nearby Aviemore & Carrbridge with frequent services to Inverness, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Pitlochry & Perth. Inverness airport is approximately 45 minutes drive. There are numerous walking and cycling trails to cater for all tastes and levels of adventure.
