Description

A house that is more than a mere summer retreat: completely refurbished, without frills, in 2018, the white island bungalow known as "Ruris" claims its territory in the countryside. It almost seems as if it has the whole area to itself, but you do drive past other rural properties on the small access road. Algaida's shopping facilities are also only 5 km away. The pristine estate spanning 12,000 square metres, with solid quarried stone walls and green areas beneath gnarled trees, offers children playing opportunities with a touch of wilderness (a table tennis table is available) and provides adults with retreats for a desperately need break. You can also spend a good afternoon on the sun loungers by the somewhat hidden pool area if you're after a shady spot. Pack a picnic basket with bread, olives, cheese, wine, and many other specialities from the weekly market. Feel free to give the stove and BBQ a rest once in a while.

The owners placed great emphasis on open, bright rooms and an uncomplicated holiday experience for their redesign. Dust catchers aren't needed here, as the continuous tiled floor is quickly mopped. The living room, kitchenette (with a stove and dishwasher), and terrace connect to form a unit when the entrance door is open. A room divider gives the TV corner the necessary support. The washing machine and tumble dryer are accommodated separately. Both bedrooms can also be accessed from the heart of the villa, one functionally equipped with bunk beds, the other with a double bed that is 1.50 m wide. The shared bathroom hides in the background, but it lets the sun rise for you every morning with its luminous red and pink hues. This way, you are guaranteed to start your day of excursions in a good mood.

The drive to Llucmajor is only 9 km long, but long enough to get teleported back in time to its attractive market square in the 1920s. Palma and Manacor are happy to enhance your trip with city beaches, promenades, and cultural offerings. If you take the Arabic name of the town literally and set up "base camp" in Algaida for your tours of the island, you will always be glad to return from the cities to the countryside between hills and windmills. The weekly farmers' market also puts a smile on the organic traveller's heart; you are sure to find a suitable option at the bodega Can Majoral for wine-filled evenings at the villa, and Randa also attracts visitors with its monastery and a romantic panoramic restaurant (Es Recó de Randa). Cycling enthusiasts are not left wanting either, while golfers can look forward to one of Mallorca's best greens at Son Gual, while the glass blowing workshop with a museum is an ideal destination for a rainy day.
