Description

A traditional country home on the magnificent Dillington Estate, Cider Cottage is a newly refurbished grade II listed thatched cottage which embodies all the rustic style yet modern upgrades of the perfect rural retreat!
A perfectly quaint exterior greets you as you approach the cottage, with a flowery set of stone walls and large wooden door, and this is maintained by key characteristics within. The main stone-floored living area is spacious and features a lovely set of sofas and chairs in front of the open fireplace and 55' flatscreen internet-connected TV (with a Bluetooth soundbar!), creating the perfect space to curl up with a glass of wine or a good book on the cooler winter evenings. The open plan design creates a thoroughly social atmosphere, with the dining table alongside the living room. In the beautiful modern kitchen there is an electric oven, hob and dishwasher, and all kinds of pleasant finishing touches. There is also a separate utility room with both a large fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer to ease the daily routine and give you more time enjoying your romantic getaway!
A majestic staircase leads from the main living area to the first-floor, where the two bedrooms are located. Both stunning bedrooms are ensuite, and feature similarly modern and appealing design elements as the rest of the property, with traditional artwork adoring the walls and lovely wooden furniture. The master bedroom ensuite is huge and enjoys a roll-top bath and walk-in shower, while the second bedroom ensuite is a superb modern wetroom with heated stone tile floors and both have fluffy bathrobes provided to keep you as content and comfortable as we can!
The large private garden consists of an expansive lawn, a BBQ and a brilliant set of teak table and chairs for when the weather allows, as well as private parking space for two cars. From fabulous stone floors and ancient beams, to all kinds of accessible fields and woods surrounding the cottage, this is the ideal spot for a rural escape both inside and out!
There are some amazing local walking and cycling routes, country pubs and of course, should you need it, easily accessibly shopping in Ilminster just two miles away. The staff at the Dillington Estate are available if you need any help throughout your stay.
