Description
A traditional cottage at the end of a quiet, pedestrian-only lane, just up from the main shopping street. Relax on the sunny south-facing patio or enjoy the golden beaches all within a few minutes’ walk of the front door. With a stable door, 2 wood burners, beamed ceilings and wooden floorboards, the cottage retains much of its original character. Note: currently being redecorated throughout! Lower Ground Floor
Kitchen/ dining room: From the stable door, down 9 steep, wooden stairs to the kitchen. Gas range cooker with 2 ovens, grill and 5 gas rings, larder fridge, freezer, dishwasher and microwave. Inlaid marble chopping block in the window recess with window opening via a rope pulley, original built-in cupboard, eclectic mix of storage units, overhead pan rack and a long, suspended shelf above cast-iron mixed fuel burner inset into exposed granite gable wall. Dining table and 4 chairs. A veritable cook’s paradise in a cosy and comfortable space which you won’t want to leave.
Ground Floor
Sitting Room: beautiful cast-iron wood burner set into exposed granite gable wall with recessed log pile, small settee, leather armchair with foot stool, comfy armchair, original wooden floors. 34" flat screen TV, DVD player and DAB radio.
First Floor
Bedroom: reached via 8 steep, fully carpeted stairs. Sunny with 2 sash windows to the front and 1 to the rear. Double bed with bedside tables and lamps, a chest of drawers, shelf with a hanging rail plus a narrow built in cupboard with hanging rail and a small flat screen TV. Original wooden floors. View over the rooftops of old St Ives with tantalizing glimpses of the sea and Smeaton’s Pier from rear sash window.
Bathroom: shower over small cottage bath, WC, wash hand basin and electric fan heater.
Additional heating is by 2 oil-filled radiators if it’s not cold enough to light either/both of the wood burners.
Outside
Lockable shed with washing machine and tumble dryer plus space to store beach gear and wetsuits. Outside cold water tap on the south-facing patio opposite the front door with small, brightly painted café table and chairs for 2.
Suitable for single or couple occupancy only. Steep stairs throughout. Dog-friendly for 1 small dog only on ground floor and lower ground floor only please.
