Star Sanctuary is one of 29 exclusive sanctuaries that are set above the main resort area of the stunning Anse Chastanet estate. The main resort is only a 10-minute walk from the sanctuary and offers an array of facilities and complimentary activities, as well as live entertainment on some evenings. Guests can relax on a lovely sandy beach close to clear, calm waters, and a concierge is available to arrange various excursions to explore the delights of St Lucia. Designed by architect Nick Troubetzkoy and reached by a long, bridge-style, walkway, Star Sanctuary is a large airy open plan space that utilises local natural sustainable products and has a 15ft height ceiling and an incredible open 4th wall with your very own infinity pool reaching inside and out so you can experience unbelievable views of the Pitons and the beautiful Caribbean Sea whilst relaxing in complete privacy and total luxury. Star Sanctuary intentionally does not have television or radio as this is an immersive experience with nature; however, Wi-Fi is provided, as well as an electronic in-room safe. Composing of up to 1800 square feet of space, the large comfortable living and sleeping space is spread over an open area on one level, and a few steps take you up to an open bath design with a huge raised couple’s whirlpool and large shower to enjoy. The suite has a plush king-sized four-poster bed, oversized recliners and plenty of comfy seating to sink into, as well as an intimate dining area should you wish to stay in and indulge. There are many convenient extras to ensure you don’t have to move too far, including a fridge, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, high-end bath products and soft bathrobes. Each Star Sanctuary guest has 24-hour butler service. Butlers at the resort are referred to as ‘Major Domos’ and guests receive a "firefly” communication device upon arrival, which allows them to contact the service team at any time day or night, and whether it be ironing, in-house romantic dinners or a top up on the bubbly your Major Domos will be available to assist you.

Star Sanctuary is in a wonderful position set in an exclusive area on a hillside with amazing views within the jungly 600-acre Anse Chastanet estate in southwestern St Lucia. Set away from the main resort and reached by a bumpy lane, there is an intimate spa and gym close by. Most guests choose to dine in their sanctuaries; however, sanctuary guests do have access to the exclusive Jade Mountain Club, which offers exotic dining in a fabulous setting. There is also live entertainment on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and the chance to mingle with other guests. The open rooftop terrace has terrific views of the sea and Pitons that need to be seen to be believed. This is a marvellous spot to enjoy a sundowner or three! A 10-minute walk or complimentary shuttle will take guests to the main resort, where guests can access complimentary activities, including yoga, chocolate tastings, guided nature walks or exciting jungle biking. The Main Resort has four restaurants, a well-equipped fitness centre and spa, as well as a fantastic calm sheltered beach where there are plenty of sun loungers available and watersports to enjoy, as well as a world-class Dive Centre. There are wonderful Sunset cruises available to book, and watching the sunset from the deck of a private catamaran or private speedboat charter admiring the St. Lucia coastline whilst you enjoy an ice-cold beer, rum punch, and Caribbean music has to be up there on the bucket list. Nearby Soufriere, which was the original capital of St Lucia, is one of the Island’s memorable spots. Overlooked by the Pitons, two giant conical volcanic spires that rise abruptly from the sea, the town is surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches, including the renowned Sugar Beach. Colourful cottages and colonial-style buildings give this laid-back town plenty of character, and there are several old plantation estates around the town. Worth a visit is The Soufriere Estate which is now home to the Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens, where you can enjoy meandering among tropical flowers and trees or take a dip in mineral baths that date back to 1784. Just south of the town is the world's only drive-in volcano – the Soufriere sulphur springs. The landscape is ‘otherwordly’ with hot springs and belching mud pots, and if you can cope with the sulphur smell, you can bathe in thermal pools and enjoy mud face and body masks. The St Lucian people are friendly and welcoming and love music and party time. Look out for events which include Carnival time in July and Jazz festival in May. You can enjoy a slice of retro Caribbean nightlife every Friday evening over at the Gros Islet Friday night street party, which is located over on the north of the Island. Locals and tourists gravitate towards traffic-free streets set up with craft stalls and barbeque stalls. Soca and reggae blare from huge speakers as you enjoy a rum punch or beer and decide which fish fry-up to sample. The party atmosphere continues long after sunset, with crowds dancing in the streets. St Lucia offers beauty, laughter, sunshine and surprises and makes for an unforgettable escape.
