Sun Sanctuary offers a truly remarkable open sanctuary made for romance where the luxurious interior blends straight into its beautiful surroundings, creating an unforgettable immersive experience. Extravagant and luxurious guests have access to a 24-hour butler service where your ‘Major Domas’ can cater for your every need. The resort is the handiwork of architect Nick Troubetzkoy and is a real piece of art. Built into the mountainside so you feel part of the landscape and set within 600 acres of lush tropical landscape that is boarded by two gorgeous beaches, you are perfectly positioned to enjoy a host of activities and adventures. Set away from the main resort Sun Sanctuary is one of 29 exclusive sanctuaries designed with privacy in mind and immediately feels special as you cross over your own long bridge-style walkway. Enjoying up to 2000 square feet of space, The Sanctuary is a sweeping open plan space with a 15ft height ceiling that wraps around the incredible infinity pool that glides seamlessly through an open 4th wall so you can experience unbelievable panoramic views of the Pitons and the beautiful Caribbean Sea whilst relaxing in complete privacy and total luxury. The plush king-sized four-poster bed is decked in crisp linens and colourful throws, and there are oversized recliners and plush sofas to sink into alongside an intimate dining area for cosy dinners or lazy breakfasts. All sanctuaries are furnished with hand-made pieces made from various tropical woods and feature authentic, carefully chosen ornate pieces. Integrated into the open space, the bathroom area is reached up a few steps onto an open platform where there is a massive walk-in shower, double sinks and WC, as well as high-end bath products and soft bathrobes; there is a huge raised couple’s whirlpool where you can indulge in bubbly fun! Sun Sanctuary utilises local natural, sustainable products and intentionally does not have television or radio. Guests are asked to refrain from using cell phones in public areas to maintain the Sanctuary ethos; however, Wi-Fi is provided, as well as an electronic in-room safe. The main resort can be reached by shuttle or a 10-minute stroll. Sanctuary guests can enjoy the all the facilities and complimentary activities available, including the live entertainment provided and the lovely beachfront close to clear, calm waters. A concierge is available to arrange various excursions, and St Lucia is a paradise well worth exploring! Sun Sanctuary guests are genuinely pampered with the 24-hour butler service. Guests receive a "firefly” communication device upon arrival, which allows them to contact the service team at any time, day or night, whether it be ironing, in-house romantic dinners or a top-up on the bubbly your Butler known at the resort as a ‘Major Domos’ will be available to cater for your every need.

St Lucia is a stunning tropical destination with luscious greenery, exotic rainforests, high peaked mountains and dramatic volcanoes to explore with beautiful powder-white beaches surrounded by turquoise seas. Anytime is a good time in St Lucia, which enjoys an average temperature of 29 degrees. Sun Sanctuary is perfectly positioned within the lush 600-acre Anse Chastanet estate in southwestern St Lucia. The Sanctuary's amazing elevated position means it has access to some of the best views on the island, and its remarkable design means you can take in 270-degree panoramic views whilst being cocooned in a secluded tranquil oasis. Sanctuary guests have exclusive access to the Jade Mountain Club, which has a fabulous setting and offers exotic cuisine. The Jade Mountain Club is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and there is live entertainment on selected evenings. The open rooftop terrace has terrific views of the sea and Pitons and is the perfect setting for sundowners and romantic dinners. Sanctuaries are set away from the main resort, which is only a short stroll or shuttle ride away. Guests can access a host of activities, including yoga, chocolate tastings and guided nature walks. There is a fitness centre & Spa to enjoy as well as four restaurants and a beautiful beachfront with plenty of sun loungers and watersports available. There is day or sunset sailing available on the resort yacht, or join the Jazzy Sunset Cruise on the 60 ft resort catamaran. Nearby Soufriere was the original capital of St Lucia and is one of the island's most memorable spots. Overlooked by the Pitons, two giant conical volcanic spires that rise abruptly from the sea, the town is surrounded by beautiful sandy beaches, including the renowned Suger Beach. There are several old plantation estates to explore, including The Rabot Estate plantation, where all of Hotel Chocolat's products begin. Try out the amazing Bean to bar chocolate experience, which shows how chocolate is produced and ends with you creating your own chocolate bar! The Soufriere Estate, which is now home to the Diamond Falls Botanical Gardens, makes for a lovely day out. You can enjoy meandering among tropical flowers and trees or take a dip in mineral baths that date back to 1784. Just south of the town is the world's only drive-in volcano – the Soufriere sulphur springs. The landscape is 'otherwordly' with hot springs and belching mud pots, and if you can cope with the sulphur smell, you can bathe in thermal pools and enjoy mud face and body masks. The St Lucian people are warm and friendly and love to party. July is Carnival season, and there is a renowned Jazz Festival held on Pigeon Island in May. For a taste of Caribbean fun, head over to the Gros Islet Friday night street party, where crowds gravitate towards traffic-free streets set up with craft stalls and barbeques. Soca and reggae blare from huge speakers as you enjoy a rum punch or beer and decide which fish fry-up to sample. The party atmosphere continues long after sunset, with crowds dancing in the streets.
