Description

Ancient castle dating back to the 14th Century, built on a tufa mass in dominating position between two green valleys, 3 km from Celleno away. Wonderful panoramic views over the valleys and woods. Peaceful and isolated position. On the property, abt. 50 m from the entrance of the castle, large lawn with swimming pool (112m²) reserved for guest and opened in the time between 15.05-30.09 and equipped with external shower, sunbeds and sunshades. At the customers’disposal: multi-purpose field for football and tennis, volleyball field, walking paths, table football, table-tennis, boules pitch, billiards and sauna, outside games area for children, outdoors dance floor with cd-player. Parking. Access along 900 m of dirt track through woods, which is not accessible for larger busses. The castle is only rented out to groups of 24 people: it provides a living area for common use which consists of 3 living rooms (one of which has a Sat- TV, the second a large fire-place and the third tables for the meals), and 12 simply but complete furnished bedrooms (4 with double beds, 8 with twin beds), each with private bathroom with shower (simple pavement showers). Each bedroom has its own washbasin, too. Washing machine and dishwasher for shared use. 3 baby-beds available (upon local payment). Possibility of 16 additional beds in rooms situated in the castle on the ground-floor, on the garden level (upon request and local payment) up to a maximum of totally 42 sleeping places, distributed in 17 rooms. Possibility of domestic help, cooks for lunch (the price is to be agreed directly with the chefs-local payment). Distances: At about 900m a small food shop with coffee shop and telephone, all kinds of shops in Celleno (3 km), Bagnoregio and Civita di Bagnoregio, known also as the 'dying town' 7 km, the Lake Bolsena (free and equipped beaches) 15 km, Viterbo (the town of the Popes) 20 km, Orvieto (with its famous cathedral) 29 km Rome 90 km, Florence 150 km. Access to the castle by a long brick bridge (former drawbridge) leading to a small internal paved courtyard. Here is a small borgo with two small twin houses, each with two twin-bedrooms and bathroom with shower (one on the ground floor and one on the 1st floor), among which there is a small church. Near one of the houses there is an area equipped with roofing, tables for outdoor dining and barbecue. From the courtyard you also have access to a simple but fully equipped shared kitchen, to the common halls (120m ²) and common WC, as well as to the rooms on the first, second and third floor (the latter being partly with sloping ceilings and low corridors leading to the rooms) and, via a lit staircase, you have access to caves, underground passages and a cellar dug into the tuff. Consumption costs to be paid on site.
