Description

The Villa Alberto, in the village of Pietrafitta, is in the south-east corner of Lazio, close to Abruzzo, Molise and Campania. Tranquil and off the beaten track, it stands in an elevated position in its own grounds of 1 acre, with fruit trees, flowering shrubs and even a banana plant. Villa Alberto has balconies on every side with splendid views of towering mountains, fields and valleys. It has a comfortable sitting room with an open fire, a fully equipped kitchen and table, three spacious double bedrooms, two shower rooms and a bathroom. There is a lovely shady veranda at the front of the house - perfect for alfresco dining or relaxing.
Pietrafitta's shop & cafe are a short walk from the Villa. A few minutes' drive away are several towns with a wide range of facilities.
Rome's airports are under 2 hours away by car & Naples Airport is approx 1.5 hours. Trains are available from Rome to Cassino 20 min away.

As all the guest accommodation is on one level, this villa is comfortable for the infirm. Note, however, that there are ten steps up to the guest floor.
The garden is fenced all round, providing peace of mind for those with small children.

Swimming Pools
There are three pools within a mile or so. We have been to two recently, both excellent.
One at GreenPark Hotel Tullio is immaculately clean, (the hotel is now owned by a pharmacist) has sparkling clear water, a magnificent backdrop of mountains, a shady end for when you want to be in the water, but not in the sun, a retractable awning for all year swimming, good changing rooms, showers and toilets, and a snack bar. As it is next to the hotel, you can pop in there for lunch. It has a large children's pool, 60 cms deep, as well as the main, 25m pool. It is off the main road, on the way to the villa, It charges 10€ per person for the full day 8€ after 2 PM, children under 12 - 8€ per day, 3€ after 2.

The other is called AquaPark. As it is on the main road, it is busier. It has a much bigger area of sun loungers. Its children's pool is slightly deeper and it also has a fun pool with slides, fountains etc. There is a snack bar, but other facilities are not quite so convenient as at GreenPark. Charges are similar but children under 10 are 6€ in the afternoon.

With small children in tow, it may be preferable not to have a pool at your villa. These provide an economical alternative.
