If you are willing to go a little bit off the beaten path to find something truly special then “Casa das Andorinhas- Swallow’s villa” might be the perfect place for your vacation in Portugal.

It is centrally located within Portugal, very close to Fatima, Batalha, Nazare, Obidos and Leiria. With easy access to highways leading to Lisbon, Sintra or Cascais to the South or Coimbra, Conimbriga, Oporto, Braga and Guimaraes to the North.

The home is nestled in a beautiful rural setting of rolling hills in Serra D’aire yet easy access to modern amenities within a short car ride.

The home is modern and was built within the footprint of an old ruin. The old ruin walls were kept and add to charm and character as well as sense of history and successful merging of old and new.

The home has a modern design and modern amenities. The main living and dining room is an open concept room that also includes an European design kitchen, as well as beautiful views through large windows, very high vaulted ceilings, beautiful natural light, and access to an amazing deck outdoors.

The kitchen boasts hidden appliances and beautiful views, and a ---- stove plate, electrical oven, dishwasher, fridge and fizzer, microwave, toaster, espresso maker, blender and mixer

In addition there are three bedrooms (masters and two guestrooms) and two bathrooms, as well as an extra space with a futon.

The master suite is private in split-level upstairs from the main living-dining room area. It incudes a bedroom with a queen size bed, large high end windows with automatic shutters, beautiful views and plenty of closet space. The master suite has bathroom with temperature controlled hand shower and beautiful design. Next to the master there is an extra upper level space with a futon and desk, as well as access to a private patio. The patio has gorgeous views of the hill above. The futon can be used for two extra guests, however he space is not a bedroom and therefore there are no blinds to darken the room.

There are two additional bedrooms on the split-level downstairs that share a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a double bed and a toddler bed. The third bedroom has two twin beds. The guest bedrooms share a beautiful outdoor patio enhanced by the presence of old ruin walls. All the rooms have high-end windows with automatic shutters and beautiful views. The Guest bathroom has a rain shower and custom design.

In the basement there is washer and a place to hang dry cloths.

The outdoor spaces of this home are exquisitely designed to take advantage of weather landscape and views. Off the main dining/living room there is a large deck with a swing set, an outdoor living room area sheltered from the wind and surrounded by old ruin walls which add charm and interest, the furniture is custom and handmade. It’s the perfect place to read a book or have a drink at sunset. The outdoor dinning room is adjacent to a charcoal barbecue and large deck with (gated) access to the absolutely gorgeous eco swimming pool. The deck itself has expansive views to the rolling hills, small olive groves and scattered vineyards nearby.

Off the outdoor dinning/living room area there is a small organic vegetable garden. You are welcome to take any produce you fancy. Availability is dependent on the season.

The custom build eco swimming pool seems to merge seamlessly with the surrounding landscape with effortless beauty. Many hours of fun and of one of a kid of memories can be had here.
