Description
Weary private house with spectacular view over one of the most beautiful valley in Iceland, the house is a hunting lodge with two bedrooms and a loft, big fire place, kitchen, wc and a shower.
To find this house you need a car :) and when driving from Reykjavík you take the first access in the valley ( before driving over Vatnsdalsá/river Vatnsdalsá) and drive about 19 km in and then the house is on your right hand up the hill across the farm Ás. The name of the house is Áslundur. Before guest arrive, they need to pick up the bed linen in Kopavogur in Reykjavik area, you will need to drive there if you land in KEF on your way around the country. After you get north to the Vatnsdalur valley you can drive a round the valley and end up at highway no 1 again just few km from where you drove in the first place, the valley is really beautful and one of the most popular fishing rivers runs via the valley. At the house you have a beautiful view over it. If you want to drive up to the highlands then there are few road but it is always best to be at a 4x4 car/jeep and newer be driveing single car at the highland, always have more food and warm cloths if you need to spend the night.
