Description

Pack your swimming trunks and bikini and we're off to Sa Ràpita for sea and sand; at "Son Sea" - regardless of what the name really means - you can't help thinking of gloriously blue water. This is a great place to set up your base camp, ready for whizzing around the south of Mallorca, for hiking, cycling, diving and running riot on the heavenly beaches. The nearby Ma-6014 is audible from the villa and provides a rapid connection to the coast. The villa has all the simplicity and charm of a weekend cottage; single-storey, set neatly into the landscape and sheltered - not just by the fence around the pool with only the mountains managing to peep over, but also by green hedges and two stately olive trees. Even the BBQ area is surrounded by small hedges, where the chimney is sure to send occasional smoke signals into the blue sky to summon everyone to the table. Taking a relaxing break under the shady roof of the terrace next to the house, or by the pool, you can plan your next adventure, or simply make a leisurely start to the day appreciating your own green and pleasant kingdom. There is also plenty of space for children to play.

When there are so many beautiful destinations calling that it is a pity to stay in one place, you don't need a 4-star hotel. It can be much simpler than that; the important thing is that you have everything you need, and you feel at home. And in "Son Sea", it is easy to feel at home. The interior is bright, welcoming and rustic, both in the living/dining area (with TV), and in the separate built-in kitchen. The three bedrooms with their solid wooden beds (one double) and mahogany-coloured wardrobes have air-conditioning; the two bathrooms offer shower, bathtub, and window for ventilation - enough comfort for a successful holiday without unnecessary luxury. "Son Sea" does, however, have one little luxury in store for you: because the nearby villa hotel "Es Torrent" just 1 km away belongs to the same landlady, you are very welcome to partake of the opulent breakfast available on the sun terrace there (please book in advance). Bicycles are also available on request to give you a little morning exercise before you reward yourself at the groaning breakfast table... And thanks to the alarm system installed in the villa, you can feel completely safe at all times.

Another little luxury is the quiet fishing village of Ràpita: set in the nature reserve with its long sandy beach, restaurant and beach-front bar, it is a piece of authentic Mallorca. The wind conditions in this open bay make it especially popular with surfers, and the gently sloping shoreline makes it ideal for children. Boat excursions and water sports are available from Club Nautico Sa Ràpita, as well as other providers. And finally, our top tips: "Casa Manolo/Bodega Barahona" in Ses Salines is famous for its excellent tapas and delicious fish, and the villa "Sa Barrala" will make your dreams come true when you set off on horseback to discover salt pans and wild flamingos, enchanted forests and Es Trenc.
