Description

Old Queens manor is a handsome manse set in peaceful countryside with glorious views to the Cotswolds and over the River Severn to Wales. The only noises to be heard are happy birdsongs, and there are woodpeckers in the ancient hornbeams and thrushes on the lawn.

At night, when guests swim in the gently lit heated swimming pool in the orchard, they are surrounded by owls calling and glow-worms shining through the shrubbery.

If guests can tear themselves away from the tennis court, croquet lawn, the beautiful local walks and quintessential British cooking, the attractions of Bath are only an hour drive away. Bath is famous for its Roman baths that attract tourists from far and wide. The city of Bristol is also only half an hour away by car, a busy city with many restaurants, shops and an energetic night life.

#### Features
Old Queens Manor is an elegant and beautifully built Victorian house with all its original features intact.

As you enter through the Gothic front floor to a flag-stoned hall, on the right there is a very comfortable living room with a marble surround open fireplace, armchairs and an antique rug. Here there is also a bookshelf where you will find books about local walks and attractions to enhance your holiday experience. The dining room on the opposite side of the hallway also has a magnificently restored fireplace and open fire, large window and a large table that comfortably seats 10.

There is a media room with a new wide-screen, mounted high definition television with DVD player and a CD player with speakers. There is also an extensive collection of DVD's, videos, books and games in the antique dresser for your enjoyment.

The flag-stoned kitchen has an oil-fired Aga, a large table with stools that can seat up to 10 and an antique dresser with all cutlery and crockery. There is a washing machine, a large fridge freezer and all other modern amenities. Views from the kitchen window overlook the courtyard, the fields beyond and the Cotswolds. The ground floor also has a butler's pantry with further kitchen equipment and a microwave oven.

The kitchen leads down to the spacious stone floored cloakroom where tennis rackets, balls and swimming towels are kept for your use. The washing machine, clothes dryer, iron and iron board are kept in the utility room that is accessible via the cloakroom. A door from the cloakroom leads to the courtyard and the garage, where a large table tennis table and table football are both kept.

The main stairs lead from the hall to the first floor where there are three double bedrooms and two twin rooms. One double and one twin share a newly installed shower room with basin and toilet and the second twin and double share a huge family bathroom with bath, shower, basin and lavatory. The master bedroom has its own en-suite bathroom with a shower. All bedrooms are equipped with extremely comfortable mattresses and linen, matching throws, curtains and cushions. All have open fireplaces and extensive views. The house is also heated throughout with traditional cast iron radiators.

The house is set in just over two acres of garden; the lawn's surrounding is bordered by beautiful trees and shrubbery with sheltered and sunny areas for relaxing. There is also a wooden table, chairs and bench for those wanting to relax in the sun enjoying a cold glass of wine. Stone steps lead onto the flat croquet lawn and an immaculate astro-turf tennis court next door. There is an established orchard with apple, plum and cherry trees and a children's play hut on stilts with a ladder, hidden amongst the bamboo plants.

Whilst visiting Old Queens Manor you will feel incredibly relaxed, enjoying the countryside and soaking up the sounds and sights of nature; watch the nesting house-martins swoop over the garden in the late afternoon and in the evening there are bats silently flitting across the lawns.
