On the border of the Peak District National Park, this end terrace period holiday property dates back over 200 years. It is accessed via a short steep track (which has been much improved and re-surfaced in 2021) and its superb elevated position means that it benefits from spectacular far reaching countryside views. Just ½ a mile from the centre of New Mills, there is a good selection of restaurants, cafés and pubs all within easy reach, and for those outdoor enthusiasts, the Sett Valley Trail, Goyt Way and Midshires Way all link at The Torrs Riverside Park, just 15 minutes’ walk from the property. New Mills, quite uniquely, is also home to the fabulous Millennium Walkway, an innovative 175-yard aerial walkway which won numerous awards for its stunning design and was even showcased on national TV.
On the edge of the Peak District National Park there is an abundance of wonderful towns and villages to explore such as Edale, Castleton and Hope, all of which all can be reached in around 30 minutes. The National Trust’s Lyme Park is just 20 minutes from the property, with the historic houses of Haddon Hall and Chatsworth around 40 minutes away. Eyam and Bakewell are also around 40 minutes, and for those wanting the bright lights of a big city, New Mills train station is just ½ a mile away and offers a direct train into Manchester in under half an hour. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ¾ mile.
