Description

Villa dei Tigli, named after the linden trees that frame its fragrant grounds, is a rustic, ochre-toned country home offering rural charm and seclusion close to the resplendent eastern Sicilian coast.

Set within its expansive, pristine lawns, this home is executed in the traditional, local style with arched, cloister-style architecture, external staircase leading to roof terrace and sloping terracotta tiled roofs.

Outdoor living is offered at its finest, with dappled shade beneath the luscious trees, framed with vibrant, flowering plants and large terrace complete with elegant pergola, table tennis table and barbecue. Guests will enjoy long and leisurely lunches as a group, or intimate drinks as the sun softens over the open country views, pool side cocktails or a local style breakfast after a refreshing morning swim.

There are three layers of terraces, from the Moroccan style roof top terraces complete with “lounge” space and far reaching views, to the middle layer offering elegant dining and the ground floor which is a sumptuous spot to enjoy a gorgeous meal overlooking the lawns.

Twelve guests can be accommodated across six double bedrooms and six bathrooms at Villa Dei Tigli. The bedrooms are full of unique and characterful touches, whilst providing all the comfort a guest would expect in a boutique hotel, each one with its own accents of colour - whether it be powder blue or canary yellow!

The kitchen provides a chic, rustic environment bursting with original charm, colourful handprinted tiles, natural timber and a farmhouse feel. The large dresser, exposed brickwork, stone floor and use of natural timber all add to the authentic feel of this cosy, yet comfortable home.

Open plan dining space, painted a very soft pistachio green, provides a sociable space for the group or family to convene at the end of the day. The enormous polished wood table, beneath the wooden ceiling beams provide simple, elegant traditional taste at its very best!

A blend of antique furnishings and contemporary touches in the living room blend to create a comforting and tranquil space to unwind in front of the open fire at the end of a long day.

Villa dei Tigli offers a quintessentially Italian farmhouse style home, blending the best of local raw materials with elegant, timeless interiors and impeccable outdoor living, within one of Italy's most unspoilt regions!

#### Location
Villa Dei Tigli is nestled in the ancient village located midway between the Etna mountain and ten kilometres from the Ionic sea. It is one of the highest villages in the Etna Park, set in the province of Catania and characterised by wonderful chestnut and pine woods.
Catania (which is where the nearest airport is), is dripping with history and cultural interest; the wide central square, Piazza del Duomo, features the whimsical Fontana dell'Elefante statue and richly decorated Catania Cathedral.

The Palazzo Biscari represents a beautiful example of Catanese baroque architecture, and contains a large archeological collection. History buffs will be impressed by the rococo style interiors, stylish decorations and sophisticated crystal chandeliers.

Whether it be benedictine monasteries, the vivacious fish market which is one of the most emblematic sites of the city, or the kiosks of Catania, this historical city is brimming with cultural interest, bustling local life and opulent historical buildings.

The thermal baths and spas are at the foot of Etna, whilst the famous “Kiosks of Catania” are a hub of local life, dating back to the 1800's; the most famous of which are in Piazzo Umberto, a stone's throw from the Fera O'Luni, the market of Catania.
