Description

In the heart of rural Andalucia, just a short drive from one of the area's prettiest pueblos blancos, Casa Maroc offers the perfect combination of romance, privacy and a very personal service.

The Casa itself is set in an intimate and upmarket retreat of tropical gardens dotted with only 3 luxurious properties (each sleeping 2 people, so there will only be 6 people maximum staying in the retreat at any given time), just five minutes drive from the village of Casares.
The retreat boasts a beautiful swimming pool, honesty bar, sauna with hammam and the Woodland spa offering a variety of treatments to indulge you. The family-run retreat has been created with an eye for detail and a desire to offer unique and luxurious holiday homes in a beautiful natural setting of pines and flowers. The more energetic will enjoy the tennis court or gym on site whilst others may just choose a book from the library and relax in the peaceful surroundings.

Casa Maroc is nestled in a beautiful private garden and offers privacy and solitude with stunning views towards Gibraltar and cross the sea to Africa. The master double bedroom has a feeling of romance and is decorated in exotic warm colours. This theme continues outside with a private plunge pool, gorgeous terrace for al-fresco dining and a bed to lounge on under the sun. A beautiful bath tub outside adds to the quirky and romantic ambience so you can bathe under the stars with a glass of local wine.

There is a small kitchen area so you can prepare simple meals and there is an option to upgrade to a bed and breakfast package which includes daily housekeeping and a fully stocked mini-bar on arrival. You can also enjoy cooking some local delicacies on the outdoor barbecue, immersed with stunning mountain scenery all around you.

Car hire is a must due to the rural location of the retreat but the owners can arrange taxis for you so you can enjoy wining and dining in some of the superb local restaurants, such as Venta Victoria which has been serving local Andalucian delights since 1946.

If you can tear yourself away from your Casa or the facilities and personalised services that the intimate retreat offers then there is so much to explore. Within five minutes by car you can be in one of Andalucia's prettiest white-washed villages, Casares. Park at the bottom and climb the steep and winding narrow passageways to the medieval fortress at the top and you will be rewarded with more stunning views. Alternatively drive a little further to explore other Pueblos Blancos such as Gaucin and Ronda, enjoying the spectacular scenery on the narrow and winding roads so typical of the area.

Despite its rural ambience and location you are only twenty minutes drive from the coastline of the Costa del Sol and the clean and well kept beaches of Estepona, Marbella and beyond. Continue on to Gibraltar for an interesting day trip or drive a little further to explore the less discovered Costa de la Luz. Day trips to bustling Morocco are also possible if you can bring yourself to leave the tranquillity of rural Andalucia.

#### Location
Located 500m above sea-level, with stunning views of Gibraltar and across the sea to the North African coast, Casa Maroc offers you charming accommodation in a beautiful countryside setting just a short drive from one of the regions prettiest Pueblos Blancos, Casares.

The casa itself is set in a private and upmarket resort of tropical gardens dotted with luxurious tents, casitas and villas, just five minutes drive from the village of Casares. Park your car at the bottom of the village for a picture postcard view of the white-washed casitas, then climb the steep, narrow cobbled streets where you will be rewarded with stunning coastal views from the medieval fortress perching on top of Casares. The village is dotted with narrow passages, pretty archways and tumbling bougainvillea whilst the Bermeja mountains act as a stunning backdrop.

The village square, Plaza de Espana, is a focal point during one of the village's many festivals, such as the week long Feria of music and dancing into the night during the first week of August or the autumnal wine and ‘feast of Virgin' festivals.

Despite its rural ambience and location Casares is just fifteen minutes from the coastline with the clean beaches around Estepona worth a day trip or two, or continue west to visit Gibraltar and the atlantic Costa de la Luz. Alternatively, remain rural and drive north to the white-washed village of Gaucin or head further to beautiful Ronda with its stunning gorge. Day trips by boat to Morocco are possible too if you can tear yourself away from the peace and tranquillity of rural Andalucia.

This area is a walkers paradise, especially in the spring months when wild flowers carpet the land. The countryside around Casares is known for the diversity of its landscapes and wildlife and it is part of the Andalucian Network of Protected Natural Areas.
